Does the infiltration move count as a move if you have the first turn? Can you make a normal move during the first turn following the infiltration? When a platoon accompanies an infiltrating platoon does the accompanying platoon literally join the infiltrating platoon?

The infiltration move happens before the battle starts, and does not count against first turn movement.

So, I'm playing with the Eastern Front book. Could I take a Kazachiy Scout Platoon...
Kazachiy Scout Platoons can use the Infiltration special rule on page 182 of the rulebook as if they were a Scout Platoon... If mounted, they may infiltrate with a Mounted Kazachiy Company...

While infiltrating with the Mounted Kazachiy Company, have a Tachanka company, (HMG carriers) be an attachment to that unit....
A Kazachiy Machine-gun Company may make Combat Attachments to Kazachiy Companies... When Combat Attached to a Kazachiy Company, Machine-gun Platoons count as part of the Kazachiy Company for all purposes.

Move them ~16" at the start of the game, then have them fire their 6 HMG shots as if they hadn't moved?

It's seems absurd that you could have infiltrating chariots, but I'll take 4 infiltrating platoons if this is true.

If they are attached then yes they can infiltrate and start of turn 1 fire at full rate of fire

That's amazing. I'm going to take 16 of these.

So, do you have to designate if they are combat attachments on the list or at deployment. I'm sure this is in the book somewhere and I'm just blind...

Also, I'm still unsure if the accompanying platoon literally joins the other platoon...

In a van down by the river

Page 260 in the rulebook covers the rules on Combat Attachments.

In a nutshell:

You decide to Combat Attach (or not) before Deployment which to my reading of the rules says you do it after you know the mission, who's attacking, etc. and it is not noted on the list at all.

Attached platoons join the host platoon for the duration of the game. For all purposes they are "part of" the host unit including counting for platoon morale checks.

If you do UP TO half of the teams in platoon (not counting command teams) then you retain the supporting platoon as a unit of its own as well. If you attach MORE than half the teams, you lose the platoon command team, ALL teams must be attached and the platoon does not count as being part of the force (lowering your platoon count, which may or may not be desirable for company morale checks, etc.).

You are capped where only half the teams may go to any one eligible platoon so if you want to attach everyone you need at least two eligible platoons for them to attach to.

Ok, thanks!

Though, does anyone know if an accompanying infiltrating platoon combines with the infiltrating platoon? (I.E. They are deployed together and only count as a single platoon for missions that say "at least half must be put in reserves.)
