Playing IG has given me great appreciation of my Valkyrie and Vendetta. With my new found love of flyers, I was wondering what army has the best flyer spam in 7ed?

Flyer spam? Elysian Drop Troops, IA3.2. You can take 91 flyers in a single, no Allies or Detachments CAD, although that costs more then 15'000pts before any upgrades or weapons, so yeah.

Best individual flyers, Eldar have some of the best in the Nightwing and Crimson Hunter. Very role specific, Hunter at least, but good.

And the Fire Raptor. That thing is horribly nasty.

My $0.02, which since 1992 has rounded to nothing. Take with salt.

I thought about drop troops, but having to start your whole army in reserves seems like a downside since they don't have very good gear for making a force that can stay on the table after the first round of shooting.
I'll have to look into Eldar flyers, from what I've seen they are awesome looking models, though they seem to get outshined by Wraithknights.

As far as the best troop transport that flies, I'd have to personally say the Night Scythe. Decently cheap, and can move 36" and disembark it's passengers wherever it wants to.

Well drop troops will combat drop, so basically like space Mari e drop pods. Only more so. I'm gonna go with Elysians, purely for the vulture gunship. bs4, Punisher cannon twin linked? Hell yes.

Definitely Night Scythes, if we aren't counting Forgeworld.

The pre-neutering Heldrake was pretty amazing but still not as good as the Night Scythe.

Tier 1 is the new Tactical.

Most effective Flyer-spam has to go to Elysians since they have Combat Drop for effective null deployment Flyers-only setups, but Elysians, Necrons, and Space Marines are all well-equipped for airborne assault armies. Everyone else has Flyers, nobody else has non-Superheavy transport Flyers.

Big advantage with nids is they are all FMC instead of vehicles. They gain all the advantages of flying while being able to fire their weapons in any direction.

JUST saying.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

Stormfang. I've faced every common flier in the game and shot them all down with it. Eldar players certainly don't seem to think they have the best fliers. The only ones I ever see on the table are the FW fliers. The 2 Codex versions only come out when someone is screwing around or tired of tabling people and wants to go easy. The necron flier got a nerf in the new book.

I just finished painting my crimson hunter. If this was about the best looking flyer, I think it has a good chance of the top slot; it’s one sexy bird. But mechanically it’s a total glass hammer. All offense, no defense. And a bit overpriced for what you get. Not useless, but compared to it’s peers, below average overall.

Outside of FW, I think I'll go with the Nightscythe

FW included and it is (to me) the Vulture gunship. I've heard that the fire raptor is good but I've never seen the rules for it so I wouldn't be able to make a call on that.

Sadly, only the BArracuda is really worth its points. Remoras are too expensive, Tiger Sharks as well. The code flyers... ugh

Ig vulture wins every day for me, best looking and deadly. Own two and they always make there points back and some. Down side is vs av12 when it has nothing, but vs troops or light armour is Amazing

Sw flyer is not good looking and is expensive but very good and a dedicated transport for 12?? guys, hard to argue with and id say prob the best all rounder in the game atm.

The punisher Vulture is definitely right up there.

I'd love to say the Avenger, but it just doesn't have the staying power.

Even with the 30 point increase, Night Scythes are insanely good. Dedicated Transports with what basically boils down to two twin-linked autocannons that can sometimes turn into six autocanons? The only thing with more firepower without sacrificing something else is the Fire Raptor, and that costs how many times as many points? Sure, it can't hurt land raiders, but everything else is point-and-click deleted, and the guys inside are more than enough to deal with AV14.

This isn't a real question ladies and Germs I present the Fire Raptor:
BS:4 FA:12 RA:12 SA:12 4 Hull Points
-1 Avenger Bolt Cannon: S:6 AP:3 Heavy 7
-2 Quad Heavy Bolters: S:5. AP:4, Heavy 6, Twin Linked, EACH
-Independent Turrets: This glorious winged murderer of the sky can fire all of these weapons per turn at any targets in range. One target per weapon.

Finally found my quote from a gym buddy born and raised in South Korea:
"It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press.
"It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.
"It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate.
"It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag."

I side with the Fire Raptor. That said the new space marine interceptor is pretty badass for air to air combat with its anti-air missiles and two twin linked lascannon. Obviously it isn't bad vs ground targets.

I like the elder fighter in my wraith list. It does a good job protecting my ground troops from aircraft.

Are Dakkajets worth it these days guys?
I have two unboxed ones but cant seem to work them into a list.
Am I better off selling em on?
They dont seem to do air superiority or dog fighting well and dont put out that much dakka considering other codex options.

Fireraptor is basically the best unit in the game. Good thing it's FW and it's ugly so you don't see it that often.

Chaos version is sooooo much better. 2 quad autocannons instead of quad bolters (10pts extra), and gets to trade silly ordnance missiles for 4 st5 large blast missiles.
