I love this guy's style. He uses only a couple of different paints but those he uses to great effect. No golden demon but definitely better tabletop standard, better than mine, in any case...

I'm sure on his own models he does a fantastic job. But for K.I.S.S. tutorial the results are excellent. Though I will admit, I have picked up a few new tricks watching these videos.
PS> Your painting is pretty good Kosake- don't be too hard on yourself

This is often the case with Duncan Rhodes. I sometimes play his videos in the background, because there are clever tricks here and there that I pick up
Compared to videos from MiniWarGaming, they are an infinitely higher and more consistent quality (sorry MWG). Some of the SWG videos are top notch, too, though not a slick in production.
Also, the quality of the models he produces (and maybe a little step up from that) is around what I want to do. I'm not really interested painting a 300 hour contest entry like that amazing Space Wolves Brothers diorama that won the last silver golden demon, a couple of WD's ago. I want to build multiple large armies of hundreds of miniatures where every model looks fantastic -- the quality of the GW box art, or maybe a little better -- and Duncan's technique is pretty good for efficiently advancing that cause.
It also demonstrates how those $5 GW brushes aren't so terrible after all

I think this has been the single best idea to come out of GW for a while. Duncan is incredibly pleasant and knowledgeable for instructing not only beginner but also intermediate level painters. I learned a lot form him about using shades and washes to create blending/transitions. (See his Nurgle tutorials if you wanna see what I mean)
I also like that these coincide with new model releases so we get a chance to see the model unpainted the week it comes out, it really helps to make a decision as to whether you want to invest in any particular release. (Got me to buy Imperial Guard, discouraged me from buying anymore orks when I saw how long it would take)

These videos looked interesting, so I dug up my Chosen from Dark Vengeance and gave it a go. Followed the advice as closely as I could (apart from the bases) and I really feel like I learned a few things. I've no intention of playing Chaos, but I'm glad I took the time to do it.
