Tomorrow folks, for those inclined to lavish paint on something new (and make an old man smile inanely).

It's a great looking miniature, but the tech elements of the armor and weapon scream more He-Man to me than classical Greek hero. The elements of the armor being remavable is great as well. Not only easier to paint that way, but you can customise his his look by adding or removing gear.
I love his trusty sidekick Ham-Or as well

Well, that's partly the idea Adam .
The universe is definitely sci-fi!

Ordered. Love the style of this range. The Hephaestus is one of my favourite models, though I am a little intimidated to start painting it!

Great paint job. I received my model the other day. Awesome casting, I may even feel brave enough to paint it soon.

Depends what you want from a weapon. Not trying to make sensible weapons with this range at all. Everything is for my own selfish purposes and for the purpose of Odyssey as a range.
However, if the weapon does bug people (and I'm sure it will), then it's a very easy job to bung something else one there I guess!
Edit:
I think a huge problem is that tabletop sci-fi is kind of drawn to making stuff that needs to feel as realistic and 'grounded'. Nothing wrong with that of course, but it then makes you very susceptible to being accused of 'doing a GW' with what you produce. These days I'm far happier with making stuff that's fitting in with the little universe I'm trying to build.
It just so happens that strange alien swords fit the bill nicely
