I just got the interactive iPad Dark Eldar Codex, and I've been reading into Urien Rakarth. Throughout the book, it mentions Urien Rakarth collecting massive amounts of bodies for some secret project. I think that this is more than just fluff, and possibly hinting towards a huge corpse... talon cronos... zombie thing. Either that or just zombies. What do you guys think?
Quotes:
Yet the black well of Urien Rakarth’s evil desires is dug far deeper than anyone knows.

In recent years, Rakarth has demanded the aid of Kabal and Cult alike to gather an ever-growing tide of living victims from the material
dimension. His allies are too caught up in their own machinations to question whether the Master Haemonculus has a deeper purpose; they simply assume that Rakarth requires this living ocean of tribute to sustain his experiments. Their ignorance suits Urien’s purposes well, for it would not do to have his deeds examined too closely by the upper echelons of Commorrite society.

Indeed, if the Master Haemonculus is in fact working toward some greater end than art for its own sake, he has so far kept the secret well.

There's already a Haemonculus Covens book, and the Dark Eldar book is pretty fresh.

Thing is, they always write the fluff like this, with big fat cliffhangers to leave you wondering. I wouldn't recommend looking any further into this, as there's no rumor from any other source that suggests Dark Eldar are going to get anything other than Vect in the near future.

I think the idea of a large DE titan would be awesome, but not really fitting in the fluff or feasible.

In terms of fluff, the DE sort of stay away from anything to large and cumbersome - they are more of a death by 1000 cuts army. If any sort of big model would be done, it'd be with the coven side of DE, but a titan unit that only relates to coven forces would seem a little off - it'd be like if the big Tau superheavies belonged to the Kroot.

And in terms of actually feasible - FW pretty much gave up on DE after the Tantalus turned out to be a royal pain in the arse to build; DE is too dainty for materials the warp so easily. And i doubt GW-main would give DE a titan in plastic :/

That being said - I'd love to be proved wrong! I've got a DE tattoo that might as well say "I'll spend absurd amounts of money for my love of Dark Eldar"

First off, welcome to Dakkadakka!

Secondly, News & Rumors is strictly for concrete information/direct rumors about future releases. All speculation goes in the respective "General Discussion" tab for whatever you're interested in. As this is speculation without direct rumors, free to talk about this down in 40k General Discussion.

Not a bad idea, so...

Do I think it's likely? No.

But I DO think DE need their own Titan, rather than the hand-me-down Eldar one. I've been hocking a giant flesh-golem titan to anyone who will listen since the Covens Codex dropped, lol.

Here's hoping!

Welcome to the Freakshow!

I don't think de need a titan. The eldar one works pretty good for us. What id rather see is an DE skimmer version of a bladebane or other suoer heavy. A massive skimmer bristling with all mannor of posion weapons. The FW tantalus is a good start, but it needs more to actually be worthy of an LOW slot.

Check the timeline - 998.M41 - "Rakarth's Larder". TL;DR: Rakarth is stockpiling vast numbers of slaves as insurance against a 2nd Fall or some other apocalypse.
This might explain why he's been gathering so many victims, and why he's being so secretive about it. The reason why I say "might" is because he only started his super-big-larder project in 998... yet other sections imply long-term favours, and the quote you've found talks about him acting "in recent years". Why would the term "in recent years" apply to an event that started last year?

My apologies if I wasn't more clear. Rumors consist of things that have some backing- either you (or someone else) heard from someone at GW, or got hold of a White Dwarf/release schedule early, or there is some other source who has (what they believe to be) credible information from the manufacturer pertaining to upcoming releases.

With GW, that's a pretty hard category to get into because either you have an early White Dwarf, have something reported to you from GW's sales team (usually only about what will and will not be available in the future), get information from the book-side of things (probably from China since they produce it), or you know someone high enough in the company that is leaking info. Either that or you're sharing a credible topic from another forum.

Everything else becomes speculation. Which there's absoultely nothing wrong with (these are usually the most interesting topics to me!)- we just keep it in the Discussion section otherwise News & Rumors would be chock-full of speculation and it'd be hard to tell what is actually coming out. GW is a very hard company to pin down in release patterns, things you think they would produce never come to fruition and other things you'd never expect become something they produce a whole mini-codex for.

Either way, here's to hoping that FW makes a DE Titan! Now if we can just get them to stop making only Horus Heresy...

I recon thye'd do it if someone did a good enough conversion.

I do like the idea of that though, there was a similar thing in the 'monstorus arcanum' iirc - i liked it because it was made by a necromancer from shipwrecks and corpses they re-animated to make a huge giant-corpse-ship thing - the artwork in it's profile was so cool!
