I can attest how good previous Oathsworn Kickstarters have been, in terms of value, casting, quality, delivery, communication... etc.

Not sure what I'll do with them, but I'll probably get a set. I might even get a few more of my other Oathsworn models painted as well.

OK based on the last 2 Kickstarters I have backed from Oathsworn I think I will be backing this.

They have had great communication with the backers and delivered on time in both of them as well.

It also helps that they are great miniatures.

Firstly, thanks to OrlandotheTechnicoloured for posting a thread about this project yesterday. A thread which I totally missed, and started my own today. So, secondly, Sorry! to OrlandotheTechnicoloured...

Anyway, there were a couple of things from the other thread I thought I should comment on, so here goes:

Henry wrote:I like the guy with the eye patch - is he an otter?

Nope, sorry - he's a hare; but I have an otter planned.

BobtheInquisitor wrote:I love the sculpting, but hate metal.

I think this is pretty common, especially since GW dropped metal and maxed out the plastics (not the loving my sculpting, the hating metal part! ). And to a certain extent, I share the opinion; I know I've got some Infinity metals that are a nightmare to build, and even when I've built them, I keep knocking bits off.
So, with the figures for this project, I've gone for single-piece casts. That way there won't be any tricky, fragile joins to worry about. Plus, I do like the weight of metal, and can't afford to do plastics. I keep thinking about it, but it's such a big investment. Maybe one day...

Slaanesh-Devotee wrote:Anyone else just think "REDWALL!"?

I did, but then I've been thinking that for months now... of course, I keep thinking 'Wind in the Willows' too, and it's difficult not to sculpt a toad with a monocle and a waistcoat...

Thanks Robert! As for what to do with them, there will hopefully be a skirmish ruleset to go with them, provided I get time to finish it off amidst all the sculpting!

Thanks! It helps that we've never tried running a really massive project. Some of these million-pound projects must be an absolute nightmare to fulfill. Of course, the million quid would be nice...

cheers

I did pledge on your dwarf hero kickstarter, and I was very impressed with the mini I received. It does make me more confident in pledging for this campaign, even if it might only be for a single mini.

No problem,

If a project creator is willing and able to run a threat for their campaign

and I'll throw in Alan Dean Foster's Spellsinger series of books as another source of inspiration for anthropomorphic animal fans

And almost backed - is it possible to get that badger in the "party of five" pledge, in exchange of two ordinary miniatures? Or get him on top of that pledge by adding 9 GBP over? And - what about shipping?

Painting progress tracker:
2017: 50 of 50 planned; 2018: 80 of 60 planned; 2019: 75 of 75 planned

Pledge 2020:
6 to sculpt, 75 to paint (2/57 done)

Backed. About how tall is the fox archer, and if I wanted two, would I also just put the 6 pounds down for the single minis pledge?

Vejut wrote:Backed. About how tall is the fox archer, and if I wanted two, would I also just put the 6 pounds down for the single minis pledge?

Thanks for backing! The fox archer is pretty big - 37mm to the top of the head. And yes, if you want 2, just add the 6 pounds for a single fig. To be honest, I hadn't thought about how to do it, but your way makes sense.

Wirecat wrote:And almost backed - is it possible to get that badger in the "party of five" pledge, in exchange of two ordinary miniatures? Or get him on top of that pledge by adding 9 GBP over? And - what about shipping?

I think you could just add 9 GBP to a 'Party of 5' pledge, and get 5 plus the badger. The shipping would be the same as a normal 'Party of 5'. That would work.

Any questions, just shout!
cheers
Michael

I really like that Badger.

I've been reading the Redwall books at lunch to my students, and I'm seeing way too much of the characters in these sculpts- which is a good thing, as it makes me want to pledge even more!

Now, if only my wife could get behind such logic...

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Tell the wife it is for the children, she can't say no to the children...

Nice to see some form of canine representation, even if it does come from the Vulpes genus. I think I'll throw in on this one when I get home from work tonight.

Tell her you want a pet badger, and it'll only cost a couple of grand a year in vet's bills and food. When she says no, (or more likely just punches you), tell her you are willing to compromise and buy a badger miniature instead! She's bound to go for it... OK, maybe not.

Thanks! I was hoping to do a wolf or two, but I'm trying to keep a vaguely consistent scale going, and a wolf would be massive. So I though a couple of foxes would be a good compromise. I might be able to work a coyote in there though...

RobertsMinis wrote:And funded! Surprised and happy it funded so quickly!

That makes two of us! I was really unsure as to whether there was any kind of interest in this sort of thing. Thankfully there is, and I'll be able to pay the mouldmaker!

A coyote rogue would be cool. You could do a jackal as well Since they're generally on the smaller side.

A Jackal in some form of armor would be great.

Not gonna lie. I'd totally buy a mini that reminds me of Anubis from Stargate (the movie). Throw in an anthropomorphized eagle/peregrine falcon in Egyptian armor, and I'll go nuts. But pretty much any Jackal will be awesome.

Oooh, a jackal is a good idea - I hadn't thought of that.

Problem with that is, I'll end up getting side-tracked and just start sculpting Stargate minis. Man, I haven't seen that movie in years. Decent minis would be so cool - I'm tempted to have a go at them now....

Thanks! And I'll get the ferret and 2nd fox done ASAP... although it's the wildcat, lizard and toad I've got started on at the moment - sorry!

I love the clever blending of the Squirrel Rogue's tail and right arm.

This range of miniatures has a lot of great details and I am looking forward to the wildcat! Any other felines planned?

I'll be in for something if my wife lets me have my allowance...

Or I'll just piggyback on Barzam's pledge since he'll be owing me for Raging Heroes.

Hmm, this adventuring group needs a bard. A pug bard could be pretty cool.

I don't know. I think a pug wizard would make better use of his bulging eyes.

Nah, it needs to be a pug monk. Bard would be rad, though, too.
