Thanks guys,
These new models are really great, lots of fiddly cables and bits though so be careful. I almost have the whole squad assembled now, its taken me longer than most infantry kits to put together. Mostly because of so much cleaning and lots of liquid green stuff being used to patch up the gaps in the cloaks.
I might end up doing a mars basing guide just for the hell of it, I am still working out how to achieve the effect I want though.

Really nice work, the detail and overall feel of the Cadians is fantastically gritty!

Awesome stuff you've got here Thargim! The Skitarii are coming along nicely!

I've bought some Skitarii just recently and I too wanna fill up the gaps with liquid green stuff, but does it work? My FLGS had advised against it, as it shrinks a lot when it dries. But I don't wanna waste my green stuff I use for moddeling to fill up all those gaps! So, is it able to fill those gaps nicely?

yeah it takes multiple coats, and then I take the back edge of my knife and scrape the excess stuff on the joint...its a bit of work Automatically Appended Next Post: So I managed to finish assembling the whole squad today, aside from leaving a couple heads and arms off (for ease of painting). Here are some images to show the detail these awesome models have, plus im going for a semi rocky look on the bases that hopefully works well with martian ironearth technical paints. I particularly like the one skitarii head with his hood back kind of revealing the mask beneath, it looks like his head is completely sealed in.
..
Plus the mars paint scheme (I may leave the inside of the robes red instead of an off white, or do both for variation..)

Cannot wait to see you get some Skitarii painted up, I think the whole range comprises of awesome miniatures. Any Ironstriders or Dunecrawlers on the horizon?

Possibly, but I won't be buying any more kits until this whole squad is done to avoid overwhelming myself. The Ironstriders look nice but to me should be 15$ less, for only a bit more money I might as well just get a Dunecrawler. But you never know, its more likely ill be doing some Sicarians (probably infiltrators)

Small update: I got a bit of a creative spark today and decided to spice up the Cadians a little. I made my own custom purity seals using printer paper and a ball of greenstuff. Im quite happy with how they turned out! and it was easy to do.

Thanks guys, im finishing the other five now. There is apparently another Admech codex coming named Cult Mechanicus, lots of new kits coming it seems. This is a pretty big release so I have to really pick what I like. Ill be passing on the ironstriders and dunecrawlers in favor of the Kataphrons and big robots based on my first impressions of the new models. Plus, the TP dominus is an absolute must have for a mechanicus fan.

I'm not really interested in Skitarii myself (price is too high on the kits and I don't like their HQ-less force org), but the models are very cool. You have done a pretty good job on yours, they look impressive. I also like your Cadians, they look at least as good as your Skitarii. I'll probably have to keep checking back to see more of your awesome work!

Despite the pretty standard color schemes, your weathering and painting style makes your models look really unique. Still haven't seen too many project logs featuring Skitarii (surprisingly), so I look forward to watching as you paint up more of the new kits!

Thanks everyone,
I did the coils by painting the whole thing leadbelcher, highlighting with runefang steel on the edges. Then I painted ceramite white into the coil cracks carefully. And used guilliman blue as a thin wash in the crevices but not too much because white should show in certain spots as well. It was kind of tricky to be honest.
