Hiya all. More painting will follow shortly.

But for now I have some things I should like to sell to you all. I scored a suitcase full of vintage warhamsters at the carboot sale (payed through the nose) and now I have to sell the ones I've got duplicates of to recoup funds. There are some real rarities here so I make no apologies for the prices. You can always make a best offer. Thanks for your consideration/

And some pics to get you salivating:

Oh - maybe its because you are in NZ and I didn't specify any international postage? Definitely didn't sell them all yet.

Yeah everything only shows up to UK postcodes so you you may want to tweak the listing is you wanted to ship overseas!

Great looking sentinels btw, looking forward to seeing more of them.

New Zealand? Pah. Australia!

Also, the only things I can see are four books. One Pratchett and three Banks.

Hmm. Apologies for mis-nationalising you. I'll try and put some postage options up for Oz and the US, see if that helps. Will let you know when I get that done - its a good idea though, lots of peeps from Oz like minis

Well. Its been a while. Busy busy real life has been getting in my way, boo.

I had trouble setting up international sales. E-bay seems to think its enough to set a blanket rate for the whole bloody world. Maybe they reserve a better system for business sellers?

Anyway I finally moved forward on the imperial guard, which is great because I have a hankering to do some RT space orks.

One complete assault squad

Third sentinel is ready for paint! Note his space crusade assault cannon. Its hard to find complete sentinels so I have to adapt, improvise and overcome:

A swashbuckling Medic and heavy weapon for the command squad. They just need a flag and some finishing touches:

I actually have enough guardsmen now for a whole other tactical squad, but according to the lists that means I need another command squad. Might paint them anyway and sd the list. Also managed to score 3 RT era ratlings, so very rare I can't find two more to complete the squad!

Wonderful work on the guardsmen weets.

Yep, nice work, Weety.

I'm fairly sure that Space Crusade is old-school enough to work with that.

I would be very suspicious of a medic with a heart-with-sword-stabbed-though emblem on his armour...

Yes I don't think he has a great bedside manner. I imagine him doing triage by euthanasia with his sword.

At least that sword is going to give a clean cut. Other minis (plus some illustrations) show amputation via chainsword.

This guy!

The Guardsmen are looking great, Weety. How many squads all up now? Three plus command section? The SC AC works perfectly on the Sentinel. It'd be hard to tell at a glance once it's painted.

Yes three squads plus command, and the ratlings will be the auxiliaries if I can find two more. I've even got two RT tech priests to justify the sentinels. And two commissars which I painted last year. So basically a complete 2nd edition list imperial army! I don't think I've ever painted a complete army before. Technically two techpriests lets me take 3 more vehicles or support weapons, so room for expansion.

Group shots soon, I've started the flag and the first 2 sentinels are nearly finished.

Just wait till you see them finished! I'm just adding dirt now and then they need helmet stripes and some insignia.

I plan on getting that done today, after my JOB INTERVIEW! I'm terrified, but its time for a change.
I want to work for iceland because I love frozen deserts and getting paid more. I just hope they don't ask me what my main weaknesses are because one of them is strawberry cheesecake.

Interview seemed to go well. Too drunk to paint now. Making bolgnaise.

Yeah I'm really looking forward to the orks. I can really go wild on the colours. This is a pic I will use as inspiration for them

The guardsmen are wonderful. I like your colour choices. My favorite model is either Mr. Hand Flamer drama queen or the Plasma pistol dude.

Yes! He is so hamming up his wound. If he can lift a sword above his head then its just a scratch. I was v pleased with the hand flamer. Resin finecast I think.

Best of luck with the Job selection, Weets. I don't know what it's like in the UK these days, but here it can be quite the achievement just to make it to interview.

Which list are you using? I just had a look at the Imperial Guard Army List in the Red Book (the one that goes with the models you're using) and it asks for 1-4 Command Sections (plus 1-4 Lieutenants to go with them), 4-12 Tactical Squads and 0-4 Assault Squads, so you're good there.

I'm looking at the second edition list. I guess its not important but I like the idea that the army should be roughly correct, so it looks right. I'm glad it fits with one list at least.

Yeah jobs are a bit scarce over here. I bet there were dozens of applicants and I got to the interview because I have a decade of experience in retail. The average shmuck doesn't stand a chance.

Heh felt that one myself. Work in construction and went through a lot of project specific short term jobs equally things have started looking up and I've been in steady work for well over a year now. So good luck! It's improving out there!

Well first things first, I GOT THE JOB!! Yeeeehaw!

Day off today. I decided to try my hand at flags. Damn flags are fiddly. Anyway after many corrections I got it down. This one is based on the pic from the front of the imperial army box (see below). Notice the bullet holes.

finished the sentinels, maybe they need more dirt?

Mmmm I love frozen food. Obviously I defrost it first (unless icecream).

Well just one more sentinel and that's the imperials done and ready for a group shot. Obviously there's the other other tactical squad but I may leave it for another year. Space Orks are calling me from across the starry void.

Also I've got a mole mortar plus crew for the squats. Hard to get hold of, mole mortars.

That flag looks sweet. It really captures the feel of the era. The sentinels' feet look fine, in my opinion. They don't need any more dirtying up.
