Would anyone mind playing against a Chaos Daemons army that used Typhus as a proxy for a Herald of Nurgle in a squad of Plaguebearers? I love the Typhus, but don't really want to play CSM currently, and seeing as he literally is called the Herald of Nurgle, I think it'd be fun to include him

Yeah I think this is a great idea, and I too love the Typhus model. As long as Typhus isn't a recast, I don't see any problems what so ever!

Pfffffffffft. But seriously, I think the regular Herald of Nurgle model is boring. And no, its finegak, which is worse quality than recast

I agree, the Herald is very static.
Shame that you dislike the quality of finecast though. Damn shame.

I've done this a few times, mostly because I acidentally forgot my herald on my display shelf. As long as you tell your opponent I seriously doubt your opponent will care.

Lmao I hope you're joking. The amount of things I've had break that were finecast were unreal, not to mention the amount of warping or bubbling.

I'd have no problem against it so long as ya told me before the game and reminded me if I forgot during game. The herald is just a fancy plaguebearer, i'd be ok with a normal plaguebearer model painted up differently and having extra poodads added. (Pun intended).

Right on. My only concern is he's on a Terminator base, not a normal infantry base, but most of my opponents are okay with that because he's just a bigger target

I like the Fantasy Nurgle lord with a headswap and a round base for my second Nurgle Herald. Typhus should be fine as long as you make sure your opponent's aware at all relevant times - the most important factor there is making sure you don't have CSM as that would be confusing. As always for replacement models, though, our opinion doesn't really matter - it's your opponent (or, for tournaments, the organiser) who has the final say.

That is the real answer: Make sure your opponent is okay with you using counts as, recasts, or whatever not normal thing you are doing.

I didn't even do a headswap on mine, I love that funky helmet. Literally noone I've played has any issue with it. I really think that only the most TFG donkey-cave would care (outside of tournaments, even then I don't see an issue).

Yeah, that's a decent proxy, cheaper than the Herald too. I would keep the helmet, I think a head swap would look wierd lol
