So we've had the rules well and truly leaked now.

It's just nonsense and I don't want to continue to support a game this badly made.

Does anyone else want to rage quit with me?

How much can I reasonably put my Tau up on eBay for?
I have a partial army in Farsight enclave paint
I have 24 firewarriors 2 painted, some partially, all basecoated
10 pathfinders painted
3 broadsides (HYMP, SMS) 1 painted

In before 'whiners rage quitting over one codex'...

Had I not pretty much stopped playing already I would seriously be considering it. It's ridiculous, it just proves in a very big way they don't give a crap about any kind of balance in their games, and for the price you pay for GW rules I would expect them to be pretty damn solid. I can see it being the final straw for a lot of people, reasonably so.

I'm happy to be a whiner at this point. It no different than supporting any other company that tries to extort it's customers.

The difference is we, the 40k play base, have such loyalty to the company for no good reason.

Maybe the Warhammer Fantasy world was destroyed as a by product of the sheer amount of D-weapons in the 40k-verse spilling over through the warp. Games Workshop loves the D and wants to share it with everyone.

I don't know what to think about the supposed new codex. All I have is the horrid feeling that it'll lead to more of a helpless feeling when playing some armies and a distinct lack of fun.

What annoys me is that I've just spent a significant amount of money on a new renegades and heretics army. I cannot just quit now.
The most regular of my opponents are eldar. This has extreme potential to ruin any chance against them. If I playd Fifa regularly against an opponent who was as good as me, I would get fed up of always having to take Stevenage Borough when they always picked Real Madrid. It would lose enjoyment factor quickly.
Yes we can make fluffy non comp lists. But people's interpretations of a non comp list are different so it doesn't always work out. And how on earth is it fair on my eldar opponents if I say you can't use half your army?
GW have done a terrible job at balancing with the new crons and eldar. We have a RIGHT to complain about a product that we have invested so much money in when its quality is poor and/or becomes poorer. If I'd payed a lot of money for a top of the line anti-virus program and they updated it to remove the protection against half the viruses it originally protected against, I'd have the right to complain right?

im going to be playing 6.5 aswell, my friend owns a gaming shop and we have agreed we will be addressing some of the issues in the game.

I prefer the old D weapon rules, not so overkill with a roll of 6 (D6 + 6 HP), it D3 HP instead but you have chance to cause more damage with chain reaction.

this is one example which we will feature in 6.5 ED

Was this aimed at me?

Yes I happen to like Tau but due to their 'bad' rules haven't played with them since 6th.
Doesn't really matter now anyway, as you can tell by the thread I'm outta here. I accept all comments of 'let the door hit you on the way out' or whatever.

I quit GW a while back. Still play 40K on occassion. I play 5th and 6th, and that's it.

Not supporting GW just means not buying from them, not going to tourneys or supporting their products. Buy 3rd party, play by other (or older) rules, whatever. Unless the place you play insists on playing 7th, in which case there's not a lot you can do. Either way, you won't be the only one leaving due to this, and you've got support for getting into other games here.

GW white knights be damned, all us "whiners" left for good reason.

I will NEVER quit 40K. It has been the ONLY game system I have played for nearly a decade. I haven't played video games since N64 & PS2 were still the current consoles. I have spent too much time, effort and energy on this hobby.

I'd say I spent a lot of money too, but I have commission painted to feed my addiction. I have painted well-over 3,000 models.

I AM an Eldar player and have been playing them since 4th ed. I have no intention to stop playing my most beloved army.

However, I am PISSED that it is so OP. Even if counters can be found, this codex will still be precieved as OP and will prompt too many player to either Rage-quit, or place heavy restrictions on playing Eldar. Even once the codex actually drops, I still wont know what changes my army will encounter, since it is obvious that every player and every Tourney will say you cant field X or Y, and Z cant use this rule.

I almost hope that the consensus is to just have Eldar players continue to use the 6th ed book, but use 7th ed Serpents. Sadly, though, no consensus is ever reached about these things.

Sweet can all the people that have quit 40k stop posting in the 40k part of the fourm that is the very definition of trolling.
Your only posts are about your dislike of the game and its just not productive.

Didnt play or spend any money on gw products since the space wolves release. I wouldnt say it was a ragequit since i didnt feel any rage. I just didnt feel like playing or buying since then.

Were sloppy rules a factor for me? Yes they definitely were. But they werent the main reason at all.

Does reading about more sloppy rules writing on the internet make it more likely that i'll change my mind and get a game in soon and even buy something new? No, definitely not.

I dont think i will buy a book every 1,5 years for my army if gw continues to produce such garbage. Aside from balancing issues the books are full of typos and rules that werent thought through.

And thats definitely the biggest deal breaker for me. I wont buy a new book for my one army (that i dont have any allies for) every 2 years. I just stop bothering and use outdated books for that one game i play each year.

No it isn't. People can discuss games they don't play. I don't play football but that doesn't mean I can't talk about it. Also, we don't only post about our dislike of the game. Sometimes our posts contain our opinions on what is wrong with the game, but you'll just have to deal with that. If you like it so much why does it matter if other people say something negative about it? Seriously, it's a public forum. As long as people follow the rules they can post where they want.

People act like dissatisfied customers who are overpaying for sub par products, is a more accurate statement.

OP assuming you like the painting and modelling side of 40k, why don't you just adopt your own house rules to suit you? Or go a step further and get a a consensus on certain alterations amongst your gaming group. Or use a different ruleset out there. Seems a shame to pack a hobby in in just because one aspect of it is neglected...

^ This, its quite comical to say the least but then again this happens everytime a new book comes out, like you am looking forward to the challenges the new Eldar will bring, and not just them many people haven't realized how meta changing the Skitarri may be with all their Haywire and 3 shot plasma gun shenanigans. Its always easier to complain and rage then think constructively and positively, especially on an internet forum.

People have been rage-quitting and trying to boycott GW since I got into 40k, over a decade ago. Quitting is a personal decision, there's nothing wrong with it. But, I for one have seen enough OP codexes come and go, enough changes in the meta that I'm not going to get my panties in a bunch. My main opponent is an Eldar player, and I can't wait to see what ridiculous lists she brings. When Tau and Grey Knights were OP, my primary opponents were playing those armies. When the 6th edition Necron's codex was wrecking face in my meta, I didn't even consider quitting. I'll admit that I stopped playing IG after the AM codex came out, and I started playing Tyranids from scratch. I got into 40k because I truly enjoy it, one codex isn't going to ruin my enjoyment of 40k.
I don't mean to come off as a GW "white knight," I'm as critical of GW as the next guy, the new Eldar codex is a significant blunder, but I enjoy 40k, and I'm not going to quit anytime soon.

The new rules for the aspects, though undercosted, are IMO better than 6th edition.
6th edition Eldar with 7th ed Wave Serpents and Aspects?
