Howdy Dakka fans,

Normally I don't post D6 Generation podcast stuff in the news section since I don't want to cross the streams but this time...we got Jon "Yakface" Regul back on the show!

He sat down with us for a nice LONG discussion on all things gaming, with more than an hour of it on Maelstrom's edge...the fluff, the rules, the factions...all of it! Hear it straight from him!!

Oh yeah, and later we talk about some other game called Star Wars Armada.

(Hint if you want to jump right to the Maelstrom's Edge stuff fast forward to the 1 hour 24 minute mark)

Hey thanks for having me! And I think it's definitely worth the thread in the news and rumors forum in this particular case.

And if any regular D6 listeners are reading this, Russ and I decided to 'retire' the sticky thread for each D6G episode in the Dakka discussions forum, as it seems as though Patreon has fulfilled that niche (as all the discussion threads have been pretty much empty since their Patreon page got going).

So if you want to leave some comments about the ep on Dakka, this is the place to do it.

Well, I'll definitely give this a listen! Of course I want to hear more about the MEdge rules, but I'm actually interested in the D6Ger's thoughts on Star Wars Armada, too . Did yak talk over that with you, or just MEdge in his segment? I only ask because at AdeptiCon he gave me tips on how to "win" the SW:Armada demo game after he played in it (and my friend then gave me grief when I told him why I had chosen to slow down my Star Destroyer after the first few turns).

I highly recommend listening to the Maelstrom's Edge interview, (I enjoyed the rest of the podcast as well, as usual).

Prior to listening, I was mildly intrigued having just scanned the MEdge posts. But after listening to the interview - wow, I'm totally psyched for this game. Two things jumped out from the interview - the interesting background fluff and the tightness of the rules, (I shouldn't have expected any less from Jon). That all the models are plastic is just extra bonus.

Anyways, for sure backer here now. Well done.

Oh yeah, you know I had to hang around for the Armada review!

Well, just sat down and listened to the podcast. It was nice to hear straight from the horses mouth and get a bit of insight into the rules.

I'm only getting more and more excited about this.

Episode 165 was a good listen. I loved the discussion on Armada (will be picking that up as well now, thanks :/ ) and it was really cool hearing yakface discuss Maelstrom's Edge, especially his thoughts and reasons for how he designed the rules. I saw a missed opportunity at one point when Russ was saying he couldn't wait to find out more about the universe and background...they just published a two part novel series on Amazon Kindle! *Edit - It is also my understanding that they are selling soft cover published copies at their booth at Salute this weekend if you happen to be in or around London and are interested in a limited run hard copy of either or both.

Craig is already reading those now! I've grabbed copies as well.

I really like the universe and rules. And I've already backed the kick starter..... I know I'd up my bid if there was a 3rd faction...hint ...hint
