So as I always do when starting a new game or army I have gone and bought to much!
So To help keep track of it all I thought I would keep a list of everything I have and what stage of progress I am with everything.
Sort of like a Diary I guess
Comments and suggestions are always appreciated of course!
Protectorate of Menoth:
Khador:
Cygar:
Cryx:
Circle of Orboros:
More to come as I update the thread!

I'm not super sold on the body shape of the Reckoners, so probably won't get them, or might convert something else to be them.
Rhupert looks fabulous though, I kinda what to paint him in some shades of pink
Oh also one small disclaimer, I'm only playing games of 15 pts or less at the moment.
Tried a few higher point games and just got confused and frustrated trying to keep up with the extra rules so keeping it small if I actually play the game!

I bought too much again!
Now that that has been dealt with keeping a hobby log is a great way to stay on track. I'm trying to do either 1 beast / solo per week or 1 unit per month. I'd do more but I also have warhammer fantasy to paint.

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states. |

Take your time and work your way up to 50pts. I played a bunch of lower pt games for almost a year before I even tried to play at 50. But yeah you bought to much. Need to work on a list and go from there instead of just picking up random models. You should also focus on one faction and caster instead of hoping around.

I mostly stick to the units I like the look of most for my games
Though Aleksandra Zerkova and her Watcher Spell has helped me out well in the last 2 games I've had with my Devastator Back stabbing anything that gets near her
Plus I always love the look on my opponents face when they ask the ARM of it and I tell them its currently 25

Nostalgia. You know the D&D 3.5 character build that argues that having two tower shields gives you total cover so you can't be attacked?

Except the Vigilant never had a reason to be nostalgic in the first place.

It's also so I have a surprisingly tough walking wall that I can hide behind and then jump over to stab people and then use my feat to teleport them in front of me for safety! Plus 2 open fists are fun for the other power attacks like throw!

Except thats not quite how it will work.
For one, her feat is only a 2" teleport. Not enough to get over her. And for two, the Vigilants are relatively durable for their cost, but they're still very kill-able by anything that dedicates itself to the task.
And for power attacks, you can't Throw or Arm lock anything with a larger base than you. So you are limited to locking or throwing lights, which is basically useless.

Actually throwing can still be useful on a light since it is commonly used to knock stuff down by throwing a model at a caster for the assassination run.

Not common enough to make the Vigilant worth its cost.
You could get the same work, and much more, out of a heavy.
Really, its undeniable that the Vigilant is bad.

The vigilant is bad no doubt. Throws can be really powerful if used right.

I know about the teleport, its usually a 2 step thing and use it to get just enough range to get back to safety.
Its worked a couple of times to
The other really handy thing is the immunity to blasts, the number 1 threat to Thyra, so she is safe from scattering bombards behind them!
Either way, the 2 of them have served me well when they get fielded!

In all honesty, sometimes a "junk" unit or 'jack does just what you need it to do in your okay style. It might Noe be ideal from a competitive standpoint, but shoot, if it works for you. Just roll with it. People used to tell me how bad Zerkova is, and I used her for quite a while and she did GREAT for me. Nothing better than watching people playing next to you put their games on time out when you utter "...roll for damage, and Zerkova kills The Harbinger." Nobody believed it until they came over to look. Automatically Appended Next Post: Its all about finding what works for you. My Legion army I run units that aren't "ideal", but it tools on tournament lists quite frequently. Player skill I find to be more important than just running the most " badass" models in the game. Find your play style and just roll with it, in my opinion.

I just did it again
the FLGS was having a birthday sale and managed to convince me to buy a Cynar 35pts Battle Box.
Kinda silly of me though Still I've doubled my Gun Mages added some Storm Knights with those rather fun Halbards
And a couple more Warjacks

It's okay, I'm the same. I've got the Cygnar all in one, and I'm gonna get the Circle one to expand my circle stuff, the Cryx one and I'm looking at the khador one too... I really want to play Zerkova2, she's my favourite WMH model I think...

She has been good for me in the 15pts games I've been running, Had her in combat with a few enemy jacks once and she managed to hit each one of them with her sword, shutting them down and then she legged out out of there in time for the devastator to plow into the middle of them and explode
Only thing she is missing is a way to speed up the jacks.
Her watcher ability is gold as well!

He's talking about Zerkova2, not Zerkova1(who is pretty terrible without having access to an Arc Node), who isn't released yet.

It's really only a problem if you are spending money you can't afford. I budget in money for things like gaming, going to movies, etc. You know, fun stuff.
I even have a separate checking account that the money goes into each month.

Yeah I was, but I do like Zerkova in general. As a character that is, her first version doesn't seem all that great, although I'm sure some people do okay with her.

She's definitely fun. But not easy to win with. Its sort of a lifetime achievement to win with pZerkova(without using Wyshnalyrr)

Everyones gonna have to change their banner to say pZerkova now that her epic version is coming out, and shaping up to probably be amazing.

It's hard to overstate how good the Reckoner is. It would only be a slight exaggeration to say that Reckoners are the faction, and "Protectorate of Menoth" is a loose assemblage of models that support them in various ways. It's easily the single best non-character warjack in the game and probably the best warjack point-for-point overall. The Reckoner is seriously silly amounts of busted, and would probably still be a compelling choice in most lists at +2pts, and still playable (if niche) at +3.
I'm fairly sure that if menoth himself descended to the mortal realm and went to Severius "It's me or the Reckoners" severius would go "Sorry bro, gotta go with the Reckoners".
