This is for a Cleanse and Control mission in an escalation league. I will be playing lots of space marine variants, but mostly going for a good TAC list. I think I would leave every thing on the table. Then, try to grab as many tactical objectives as possible. Any tips?

you need to give overcharged engines (or whatever its called) to the vindicator or its just a waste of taking a blood angels vindicator (its a huge advantage to move the thing 12 inches and still shoot)

In 1000 points just take 1 hq

Give your tac squad atleast a meltagun or heavy flamer, with neither they are useless

Death company are too expensive to give them no special weapons, consider a thunderhammer and couple power swords mixed in

Also for 1000 points you have way to many death company, you need cheaper troops

Consider taking 2 small scout units for troops if you want to go all out jump troop assault with the rest of your points, and if you do definately take dante for the scatter ability hes got.

If you are allowed, consider going unbound and take just assault units and death company.

I too am curious how to equip my Death Company (5). Currently they are locked in as the Raphen Squad formation, but as soon as I get some Scouts, I can move them to elite and customize them.

Any weapon recommendations for a well-rounded squad?

With death company you have to be careful how to deploy them since they are expensive, can't assault the turn they deepstrike, and you don't want them shot to death before they get to assault.

One of the best ways to deploy them is in a stormraven. It has 12 model capacity so you can put 6 DC or 5 DC and a jump character (probobly a chaplain since they already have FNP, although a sanguinary priest does give them +1 initiative which could be very useful)

Tool them out 1 with a thunderhammer (for AP2 and concussive so if you charge a monstrous creature and it lives it will attack last next round of combat). And maybe 2 powerweapons in case you charge some armor 3/2 guys (swords if fighting a lot of armor 3, axes if fighting armor 2).

Careful with power fists and axes though since you lose the +1 init advantage and attack last which can be bad.

Only kit out half the DC with special weapons, the rest just use chainswords you don't want to make the unit too expensive.

If the DC don't have jump packs, put them in a razorback, rhino or landraider.

Apply the fist couple wounds to the DC with the chainswords, and when moving around the field have them out front as body guards for the ones with special weapons.

I like the Stormraven option. I picked one up for my Death Company and Cassor the Damned to get a ride into the battle. I run Captain Karlaen as my WL so a turn 2 fully loaded Death Company Stormraven should be consistently getting in there!
