I know they form specific bonds and loyalties to certain space marine chapters and in particular the adeptus mechanicus. But is there any mention in the knight codex of them having any strong attachment to the ecclesiarchy or the sisterhood.

IMO I find this a little unlikely. The Knights seem to be portrayed as either mechanicum, who don't like the ecclesiarchy due to the machine god thing, or as arrogant, glory seeking nobles concerned with their own privilege and advancement. A good example is in Vengeful Spirit in the HH series. To me this self interested and individualistic mentality doesn't mesh with the SoB who are all about ideology and are either portrayed as brave selfless heroines or brutal religious fanatics with a love of fire. So I just don't see how such a thing would happen unless an Imperial Knight happens to wander into the same battlefield as a bunch of battle sisters I don't see it happening. I certainly couldn't see them working together as true allies.

Knights are fairly individualistic, I don't see any reason why there wouldn't be a minor household that happens to be more ideologically compatible with the Sororitas.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

Yes.

Because of the fluffy and narrative reason of buy more models.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

It's been 10,000 years since the Heresy, and 4,000 years since the Thorian Reformation. It is likely, even probable, that one of these Knight Houses, through successive generations of living in the Imperium, have become religious, and devoted the wealth and power of their House to the cause of the Ecclesiarchy.

After all, entire nations once marched to war at the word of the Pope, with the nobles and rulers of many European nations devoting their wealth and military assets to the Crusades. Why would this be any different in the theocratic Imperium of Man?

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

In many ways, I've always liked the "Holy Roman Empire In Space" interpretation of the Imperium. The Knights are apparently much more widespread than we thought, and if you look at some of the Imperial Counts/Knight fiefdoms, you can see some pretty wide variety of association. I'd imagine that there's quite a strong triad in some regions of space that goes Black Templars - Imperial Knights - Adeptas Sororitas, each with their own complimentary forces.
