Still relatively new to the game, but going to be in a tournament. My biggest fear for my army is having to face either fast cav., or having to face tunneling stormfiends. Those I see as being the biggest checks to my army. Idea is to have a meat bus that can do the largest amount of work in my army.

Lords
Tyrant
-heavy armor, ironfist, giantbreaker, fencer's blades, glittering scales

Slaughtermaster
-lvl 4, great weapon, ruby ring

Heroes
Bruiser
-bsb-rune maw, great weapon, heavy armor,

Butcher
-lvl 2-(death or heavens), great weapon, dispell scroll

Core
Ironguts x9
- full command, dragonhide banner

Ironguts x7
-full command

Special
Sabretusks x2 (separate units)

Leadbelchers x3
-bellower

Leadbelchers x3

Mourfang x3
- ironfists, heavy armor, bellower

Rare
Ironblaster

Idea is tyrant, slaughter and BSB join 9 gut unit, where butcher joins 7 gut unit. Mournfang act as charge bait, iron blaster and lead belchers act as firing positions and to try and deal with fast cav. Then cats do what cats do and act as charge deniers/redirectors.

You need a bellower in both units of leadbelchers if you want them to handle fast cav, if they move behind you you will have to quick reform to be able to shoot them. For your gutstar I'd take the runemaw instead of the dragonhide to give them some protection from magic, one deliberately targeted purple sun or pit of shades and a huge chunk of your points are gone. You might want to think about lore of beasts for the butcher to buff the ogres with wissens. And don't use mournfang as bait, you need them to charge as if they don't win the first round of combat they are dead, and you need those 3d3 impact hits and charge bonus to do that. That's my initial thoughts.

My BSB has the runemaw, I see that as the more valuable of banners, so putting on more valuable model.

Though the lore of beasts seems like a great idea, not sure on most BRB lores, only really know great maw.

For mournfang, what I should have said is have them act like bait, so if they get charged, they have speed to flee. So my meat bus can charge next.

Lad can't use his ironfist in combat due to paired fencer's blades, drop it for useful things.
Butcher
-lvl 2-(death or heavens), great weapon, dispell scroll
Beasts would be preferred for that sweet signature. Could probably save 35 points and stop at level 1 if you like, though the lore has plenty of other good ones for the second spell.
Leadbelchers x3
Bellower please!

Sorry didn't see the bsb kit probably. Personally I wouldn't risk it with the mournfang, ld 7 they might not rally, and you might find that whatever charges them might be able to redirect into the bus, again denying you impact hits (s7 ones with your rank bonus). Plus as they aren't fast cav, if they do rally they are useless for a whole turn, and you can't afford to deliberately have that unit doing nothing. You want them to flank a unit locked in combat to smash it to pieces, or tackle small elite units that you can break in a single round. Ogres don't really have a unit that can reliably flee from charges and still be useful, with sabretusks being ld4 and gnoblars being m4. It might be worth taking the back rank of the guts unit to run a three man unit to help position yourself and the opponent to help ensure you are the one charging. Worth experimenting with in a few games if you are going for a tournament

Your spending too much on characters for 2500 IMO...

After end times Nagash you can have up to half your army being lords/heroes.

Also dropped the iron fist on tyrant and heavy armor on BSB to get a bellower on leadbelchers.

I think what he meant was, in general you have a good chunk of points into lords for only 2500 points.

Yeah missed the IMO at the end, the main reason doing that is Ogre leadership is poor, so need the characters for force multipliers and to keep good leadership.

Also if I dropped a character I could only get a mediocre unit, compared to the character.

I have to say I agree about spending less on characters. The most 'mediocre' unit of ogres has potentially 3d3 impact hits, 9-12 attacks (depending on extra hand weapon) and 3 stomps. That's potentially 24 s4 attacks for 93 points. Again, if you want to play in tournaments and do well, you need to play loads of games and try out loads of possibilities to find out what works for you and your playing style.

I think I will try that, thanks for all the advice. Still relatively new to game, so still trying to figure things out.
