Great toturial, this is exatly what I was looking for a homebrew Chaos Space Marine warband of mine.

Just one question, could I use Citadel´s "Blood for the blood God" paint instead the one from Tamia?

I was wondering that about using BFTBG too, for tidying up a silver spot I missed with the Tamiya I did use BFTBG afterwards, but with that small amount I couldn't tell how it would look over the whole model. But if I had to take a guess from my experience of both paints - BFTBG would come close but not quite as good for achieving the above affect

Even for blood effects I've found clear red to be better (and cheaper)
But if you do is bftbg, do thin it a bit and you may need multiple coats to get a solid effect

Yep it would, although with smaller more detailed surfaces detail blocking is something you've got to be aware of and tamiya paints have a habit of going thick after a bit of time, just make sure the paints thinned and it shouldn't be an issue at all

Can I use Tamiya paint thinner mixed in with it or jsut stick to what you said works?

Sounds like tamiya paint thinner is made for the job, although I have no experience with it - if in doubt test it on a bit of sprue.

You could try auto air candy apple red if you don't like Tamiya colours - I have got good results with their Teal and Green

All paints show the previous layer through a bit- it's the opacity of the paint- otherwise known as "coverage". It's why the best technigues use thinned paint in multiple layers instead of one thick layer. As you build up the layers, more and more opacity builds up and the base layer/primer fades away.

Clear Coat paints are made to show the base color through them- it's almost a candy effect. Some are glossy (like the Tamyia Clear Coat) and some are more matte (like Badger Airbrush Ghost Tints). They are designed to tint the base coat in a particular shade without covering it.

I haven't used BftBG Red Paint by GW, but reading it's description seems to make it sound like a very glossy traditional acrylic paint. I think if you base coated with a silver metallic and then used the BftBG Red, you would get a very glossy red model without the metallic color showing through.
