Another month ends, and once again we've had some superb entries into the Unofficial Dakka Monthly Painting Challenge. This month's theme was all about speed, the Fast and Furious, and here at the finish line we have an awesome lineup of both, across a range of genres, games and settings! As ever, everyone who came away with something painted for the shelf or the tabletop is a winner, but it's now down to you to pick your favourites.

You may cast as many votes as you like (3-5 is recommended, but you may use less or more if you wish) to pick out any entries you feel are worthy of extra recognition, whether for the quality of the paintjob, the effort and improvement from the painter, the sheer originality of the piece or anything else of note! At the end of the 5 days of voting, the top three entrants will receive extra points for the League Table, and get their entries placed in the accompanied Hall of Fame.

Feel free to leave any feedback, comments or gallery votes for the entrants, either here or on their blogs or galleries.

Lots of fun entries this month. Once again, hard to make the call. Everyone did a great job.

Some of my favorites:
NidLifeCrisis: I get a solid sense of movement and menace from that guy. As Fast and Furious is the name of the game this month, well done!
FearPeteySodes: That venom tells a story. I can hear the gunner yelling at the pilot to fly straight so he can kill things, while the pilot quips back that he’s dodging lascannons down here and it’s not as easy as it looks.
SJM: While a cyboar might not have the speed of a proppa bike, it makes up for it in porcine anger. Amazing detail work.
Januine: Love the bikes. Great job capturing both the speed and lethality of the ravenwing.
jah-joshua. Very angry, very fast, very crisp/clean paint job.
Tayls: “Fly closer, I want to shoot him with my meltagun!”
Paradigm: Those rats never knew what hit them.
zoat: Nurgle is not known for being anything resembling “fast”. But a thundering charge of heavy calvary might just do it.

Agreed, it's a tough call. My votes:

Matthew: as I mentioned back in the thread, those are a huge improvement over some of your previous work, and you tried out a new technique with the OSL, which is what this is all about!

FearPeteySodes, SJM, Januine: best painted 3, I think! Stunning stuff from each of you!

Zoat: original concept, great conversion, brilliant paintjob. What's not to like?

This is the first time I can vote, and I'm proud to be (a little) more involved into Dakka, but that's right it isn't easy to choose the winner, there are some great paintjobs and great conversions here.
I'm curious about the mad_eddy_13's Imperial Guard Truck, did he used an ork truck ?

So many fine models! I had a really hard time making up my mind, so I decided to cast lots of votes!

If I had to pick one it would have to be OneManNoodles. That arco-flagellant is just so 40k! Fantastic!

But I don't so I also hand out a couple of more votes:

FearPeteySodes and SJM: Classy models and amazing paint jobs guys!

mad_eddy_13 and Matthew. For excellent modelling and cool concepts!

Yep, 34 entries in total this month. Not quite as many as the epic first round (nearly 50 that time!) but a few more than last month.

My votes went to:
NidLifeCrisis: That Ork biker is awesome!
FearPeteySodes: I like the paint scheme on the Venom, and the pose is very dynamic and full of character!
Januine: Those Ravenwing are amazing, and an inspiration to me to get mine done (not that I can do that good with them...yet!).
TazN: That wave serpent...wow, just wow!
mad_eddy_13: I love scratchbuilt stuff, and that truck for the guard is just awesome. Only question is what do you use it as on the tabletop (counts-as Taurox, perhaps?)?
I didn't see any entries I didn't like at all, but I limited myself to five votes, otherwise I would have probably voted for everyone but myself (since I don't believe in voting for oneself).

Thanks again to Paradigm for having this contest. Hopefully I can do better in the next one!

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

Wow, nearly impossible to vote this month -

Zoats Nurgle rider is beautifully put together.

Paradigm has put alot of work into his entry.

Januine Fantastic stuff again.

Onemannoodles, super model.

And Nidlife crisis, Great Ork model.

If I could vote for most improved, definitely goes to Matthew, sorry I ran out of votes bro.

Sweet mercy this gets tougher each month eh?! So many cracking entries so I tried to focus on how well I thought they caught the theme of 'fast and furious'. here's my 2 shekels anyways

@nidlifecrisis - love this one; snarling angry ork powering it on a bike. totally encapsulates both parts of the theme. cracking

@Matthew - raptors.....fast/furious. check and check. adding the blasts out of the jetpack was an excellent idea as it really gives the fig a sense of movement. you've really come along on this one Matthew. nice job

@SJM - beautiful job. seen a lot of your stuff in the gallery recently and i love your orks. bloody lovely says I

@jah-joshua - cracking paint job. I think i said somewhere else before how i love the way you do armour - really gives the feel that's its been through the wars without having to weather the crap out of it. fast n furious? without a doubt

@paradigm - perfectly captures the theme. gorgeous amount of movement in this. catches a microsecond in time. you can almost feel and hear the attack. stunning

and that's me! well done all - this comp is going from stregnth to strength. Big cheers once again to the man with the plan - Para

More votes than last month cast already, and it's still amazingly close at the top end, just 6 votes cover the top 3 so far!

In addition, everyone is going home with at least one vote to their name, which is great to see!

Keep 'em coming, guys!

And across the line! Voting is now closed, and we have winners! Without further ado, I give you the top three entrants for Round 3: Fast and Furious!

In third place, making the top 3 twice in a row, we have
SJM's stunning Ork Cyboar Rider!

In second, with just one vote more, we have
Talys with the Blood Angels Stormraven. Fast, furious and fantastic!

And having (just) held the lead all the way from day 1, there could only be one champion! A round of applause for
FearPeteySodes' Dark Eldar Venom!

Congratulations to you three, and to all those who entered and finished. The quality and effort this month have been the best yet, and that's been reflected in how many strong scores we've had and a nail-bitingly close race to the finish!

It just remains for me to tha thank all those who took part, or offered advice and encouragement throughout the challenge, and remind you all that that we're having a monstrously good time over in Round 4's thread! If you fancy painting something scaly, slimy, sharp or scary, head over there and sign up for the challenge!
