I let a friend of mine borrow my large copy Warmachine book, and he has been showing interest in playing the game, with some interest with Khador, which I happen to have some of on hand, so I offered to run a demo game with him. So far, I have made a couple of 25 point lists, I have a mercs list with Magnus 1, and I have a Khador list with Sorsha for him to try, what are some good things to keep in mind? Keeping in mind as well, I actually don't know the local Press Gangers.

Shadowrun is the best game ever. It's the only thing I have ever played in which I have jumped out of a shot out van with a chainsaw to cut a flying drone in half before leveling a building with ANFO assisted by a troll, a dwarf, an elf, and a wizard.

Maybe start smaller?
Just my personal preference but I found the step from 15pts to 25pts hard just because of all the extra rules I had to balance at once. I found the slow build up helped me in the long run.

When I started, I bought a few different battlegroups (2 from WM/2 from Hordes) and a buddy of mine tried them out with me. It worked swimmingly.

Let him win.

Seriously, just let him win his first game or 2. Some people pull the "HE HAZ TO LERN SUMTIME!!!!" attitude but if you if you want someone to get into something you need to make it feel fun, and feel good. Now don't make it obvious you're throwing the game but maybe "midjudge" a charge & fail.

Winning feels good. Getting curb stomped doesn't. Now don't coddle him forever but if you go balls out & stomp him hist first few games, the enthusiasm likely won't be there to continue where as if he wins his first game or two he'll be more likely to pick it up.

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.

Don't use too many things with special rules. He's already having to learn the basic rules and strategies don't compound it with special stuff until he's comfortable with the basics.

PSorscha+Jugger+spriggan+widowmakers=15 pt list

PMagnus+Mangler+Nomad+Halberdiers=14 pt list

So you spot him a point but these lists are pretty basic and should give him a good grasp of the rules.

I like this idea, but I don't have any Hordes stuff unfortunately, but I could find a couple of those and try them out.

Alright, I was thinking of doing 25 to get in a couple of solos and some Winterguard, to show how units work together, but I can bump it down a bit.

Makes sense, I was planning on it already, but I'll do what I can, maybe move Magnus an inch or two close to Sorscha

Sounds like some good lists, I do not however have the Mangler, so I'll have to put something else in
