So after a hiatus from modelling due to real life getting in the way of everything, I've dusted off an old project of mine. I've had a Fallschirmjagerbox set for awhile and want to ease back into the hobby by painting them up as more of a showcase than gaming army. The biggest problem I'm having is a lack of information on the camo smock's that they wore. Ideally I'd like to have an army that I could game with either in Normandy or in the Market Garden campaign, but I have no idea if the camo would've been the same at that point. A lot of my saved info was lost when I wiped my computer so I'm stuck going off the FoW website

Does anyone have anything a little more concrete than this? I'd really like a good centerpiece army that has an element of historical accuracy to it
(Definitely hoping Big P chimes in if he's still around)
Thanks for any help I can get

That's actually really helpful. Obviously leave out a lot of the fine lines since it's 15mm, but the blocking jagged shapes should be straightforwards enough

I wouldn't recomend including any of the rain marks unless you care very dearly about making your miniatures look good

As far the rain marks go I'd just put them in the open spaces I think. Kind of like what they have on the BF tutorial but not as thick

So the best bet would be to have a mixture of newer uniforms with older ones?

Yes...
It depends on the unit and time period but a mix works for most. Automatically Appended Next Post:

If you're looking to do a centerpiece unit, I'd go mostly with Splinter pattern smocks, with maybe a handful in the older single-color smocks like Big P said.

This is going to be more of an ongoing army that I can paint up when I actually get an hour here or there to paint. So the whole army will be painted to a very high standard

The only other question I have at this point relates to painting. How would I try and match the Luftwaffe Feldbau color? Can't seem to find any starting colors on google (my internet skill is weak)
