Had a really good game on Infinity the other day and I'd like to break into it. I was thinking of planning the following:

Qapu Khalqi
──────────────────────────────────────────────────

Group 1 6 0 0
IGUANA HMG, Heavy Flamethrower / . (2 | 71)
GHULAM Doctor Plus (MediKit) Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (16)
GHULAM Hacker (Hacking Device) Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 20)
HAFZA Lieutenant Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (16)
HAFZA Spitfire / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 22)
GHULAM Rifle + Light Shotgun, Panzerfaust / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 15)

Group 2 5 2 2
SEKBAN (Fireteam: Haris L1) AP Rifle, Chain-colt / Pistol, Stun Pistol, Knife. (23)
SEKBAN Doctor Plus (MediKit) Boarding Shotgun, Chain-colt / Pistol, Stun Pistol, Knife. (25)
SEKBAN Spitfire / Pistol, Stun Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 28)
YUAN YUAN Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, Shock CCW. (8)
YUAN YUAN Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, Shock CCW. (8)
NAJJARUN Engineer Rifle + Light Shotgun, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (17)
DJANBAZAN Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 31)

6 SWC | 300 Points

Open with Army 5

Thoughts? I'm a total noob so open to suggestions...

The idea is to provide the Iguana with orders through the 5-man relatively cheap link of Ghulams, while the Hafzas in that unit hide the lieutenant and give it a close range punch (i.e., it looks like a long-range unit that's just there to provide orders and hacking, but the Spitfire Hafza provides a nasty surprise to units who get too close).

The other group has pretty good orders efficiency due to the Fireteam Haris, and contains units that won't be *as* order intensive. The Yuan Yuan *could* provide orders, in a pinch, using the command tokens but would basically just be there to shake things up.

I'd made a ghulam with panzerfaust into a FO, also you'll have spare points to make yuans have DA CCW to give them an extra edge in CC.. Also, I'd rather move everybody but yuans and djanbazan to group 1, as yuans are irregular and djan is mainly an ARO deliverer, but that's only my inexperinced opinion.

Now, I don't play Haqq so my advice may not be the best, but what I would do would be..
First, I'd try for 12 models. Remove one and upgrade another. Of these 12 I'd then make one big group of 10 and a smaller of 2.
Reason here is that you have a TAG after all, and you might want to be able to spend as much orders as possible on it. Same kind of goes for the Link teams. If you have both links and the TAG in the same group, you'd have way more options of how to spend your orders.

In group 2 you place either 2 reactive units that will just spend their orders to position themselves, or 2 units that will move on the table later on (AD, TO). Then, once you've lost a unit or two from your main group, you use command tokens to move those guys in, effectively keeping your order efficiency to the maximum for the important units.

Of course, you could do this with 3 units too, but generally I feel that 2 command tokens is all I have to spare when I play. If I spend 2 on moving units, that leaves me 2 for coordinated orders / reforming links / rerolling doctor / making irregular orders regular.

Sorry if this is all referencing very advanced rules, if you're completely new this might all just be confusing for you... but that's what I think anyway

Beyond the Beltway

14-15 models is not at all unusual in a QK list. You're list should be just fine, depending on what sort of game you intend to play. Kill 'em all or YAMs and its good, for ITS scenarios, it's meh.

Suggestions: re-arrange the combat groups a bit to get more orders in group 1. Also, drop something so you can get 2 nasmats, for the najjarun and the Ghulam doctor-- unless you put said Dr in a link.

Play the list a few times and see what it does. Best way to see how well a list will work.

If you try to Rambo that TAG though, you will be sorely disappointed, at least against experienced opponents.
