No, no offense taken - none at all!

I LOVE Mantic's terrain offerings from Deadzone - they have enabled me to build a fantastic SF table at a much lower cost than I'd thought possible.

I think I'm going to love their SF 'hard plastic' offerings too.

It is just their smaller sized 'restic' stuff that continues to disappoint.

They're close - so close...

Ayup. I don't mind pvc plastic for larger models, and the hot water reposability is nice especially for organic models. But pvc infantry has just gotta go, as does pvc vehicles.

And yeah, I really can't praise the DZ terrain enough; it's everything I've wanted in sci fi terrain since I started wargaming like 20 years ago or whatever. Cheap and looks great. Anyone want to buy some Hexagon and Platformer stuff at a massive discount? Lot of it still on sprue

Yeah, I really want the Enforcers Zombies and Forge Guard to be on my desk right now.. they'll be the star products of the kickstarter alongside the terrain, but the wait for July is pretty agonising!

Deadzone could have gone nuts and hit at least 2 mil if they'd planned for hard plastic in advance, but unfortunately, not an option after the mega-turd MAA sprue... so instead we have to settle for getting the good stuff as a surprising bonus. I think they would have gone 100% hard plastic if they were doing it this year rather than last.

Forgefathers and Enforcers are going to be the real "starter" factions for Deadzone as the retail launch continues, I think... you only need 5-6 minis for enforcers and 3-4 for Forgefathers, all of them in hard plastic so I think a lot of people are going to think "I can get into this and I only need to paint less than half a dozen of these sweet hard plastic minis? Sure, why not!". It's what got a lot of people into warmachine in its early days, the extremely low requirements of just a caster and some jacks on the table and get playing.

I do hope they also release Enforcer and Rebs lists for Warpath, not a lot of movement with that game going on compared to everything else, but I would like to get going with it.

I got my bill finally for the second survey. I'm amazed I managed to keep it as restrained as I did. Still haven't received my missing parts yet, though.

Mine arrived last week. They only had to replace a bag of damaged Plague 3Gs for me, though.

Looking at those big terrain constructs a few pages back makes me want to demolish my giant building again. Unfortunately it is currently serving as a rather cunningly designed set of shelves housing several hundred IG troops.

Also, I never quite figured out how to build the landing pad set. Specifically, what exactly were we supposed to do with the stair bits included. I just can't fathom how to use them correctly...

The flat part with kind of an x laid into it is the flat landing part. The posts get one of the small connector pieces that fit them in each side, use those and probably some straight connectors on the bottom of your pad to elevate it. The flat pieces with the 3x3 grid and the hole in them get the two square fan looking pieces, though I leave mine out and use them as access points.

The wide angled connectors are for adding the the defense line shield bits around the top of the pad in an up or down position to taste. The triangles can be added in to the pad to achieve different sizes and shapes as desired, and can be used with the stairs and for various other purposes.

The only way I got the stairs to go together was to snap off their connecty bits and glue 2-3 sets together, with a triangle on the outsides (leave those connector nibs intact). You can also connect stairs directly to any wall tile.

I think that's all the pieces? Oh those weird little connectors that look like they'd hold two things flat together... no idea really.

Hopefully helpful, unless you were joking, was bored anyway. Definitely a fun set with a lot of neat and useful bits.

What is the email address to contact Mantic again about our Deadzone surveys? Due to some good things happening, I'm moving out of my current apartment soon, and I wanted to give them the heads up (and check on my order in case I screwed up and didnt buy everything I planned!). Thanks all.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Thanks! I'm off to go rebuild everything again. Got more design ideas..

The reversed double flats are pretty much almost useless. They were originally going to be specially used for the stairs, but they redesigned them.

However, they've kept them on, just in case they end up being handy.

I've found one way they can be used.

So DZ update today, we got containment protocols! Anyone else excited? I'm gonna put it on the ereader a bit later and dig in. Seems like there's just a redemption code on the kickstarter page so I dunno if it's on the honor system or what, can't anyone see those updates?

life.

Does anyone else think these would make a great forge world/forge star? That's what I'm going to do with them.

I collect:

Grand alliance death (whole alliance)

Stormcast eternals

Slaves to Darkness - currently Nurgle but may expand to undivided.

What would make a good forge star? What is a forgestar?

Still haven't received any invoices for Mars Attacks or Deadzone (wave 2). Should I be worried yet?

I got my Deadzone wave 2 on the 16th, given it's not due until June 2 I wouldn't worry just yet.

I've not received one for Mars Attacks, but lifted from the MA comments section made this time yesterday

PayPal requests are being worked on at the moment. We've got some back-end admin to do, matching comments up to what people selected, chasing the last surveys, chasing the people who submitted surveys using a different email address (sigh people, sigh!!!) and then chasing unspent credit.

Also, I think lord marcus meant to attach an image or a link and then forgot

Got my Deadzone invoice at 8:30 this morning in for another $200 which is what I expected went to pay it and at the current exchange rate I have $199.99 in my Paypal account I'm not charging 1 cent to my credit card so I have to wait for the rate to change!
