I'm realizing that moving armies internationally is a bigger pain in the arse than I thought, especially with the size of the AdMech units and the growing number of flyers I have for my Elysians. I've decided that I need to get a proper miniature carrying case for carry-on luggage now. I noticed that KR Multicase doesn't have anything specific for carry-on, so I turned to Battlefoam, specifically the Battlefoam Air case, which was designed as a carry-on bag. I've done my fair share of Googling, and the last thread to mention the Battlefoam Air case was over two years ago, with mixed results of it being successfully carried-on.

Most guidelines for airline carry-ons I've read specified that the sum of all three sides cannot be more than 115cm. Battlefoam lists the dimensions as 63.5W x 40.6L x 27.9H, totaling to 132cm, and I've heard that its actually bigger due to the pull-handle rails and wheels.

Have any of you guys recently tried traveling with the Battlefoam Air bag, both domestically in the US and internationally?

Do you have a "Foam Shop" where you live, perhaps by another name? I've actually found that it's cheaper for me to get my foam custom cut than to buy hobby shop stuff. They can literally use any kind of foam I want; I just show them a sample, give them a printout of exactly how I want it cut, and come back in a week. Then, just use whatever carry-on roller thing you want

I'm not sure what the "real" cost is, because my sister used to be a manager of one, and she gets it done for me at just the cost of materials, which is close to nothing.

I'm considering doing one with a zig-zag pattern for part of it, like GW's, but I'm not sure if they can do that. If not, I may get uncut foam, and get it cut at a trophy store (they have laser engraving machines that will slice through it like a hot knife through butter). The zigzag isn't good infantry, but it's so nice for doing big models and strange-shaped models.

It's not so much the foam that I need, it's the carrier bag.

Pack Air does not meet most domestic US airlines carry-on rules. Even the ones it technically falls within will often get gate checked.

Well yesterday I found out battlefoam will float your models. We got 3 inchs of rain in a 2 hr period and the storm drain outside backed up into my basement. Nothing like seeing your Judicator floating around your basement in 6 inchs of water.

And That's what happens when you have so much foam packed into one area.
