So this is a list I've been using for a while now, works out pretty well for me, especially against marine armies.

HQ;

- Tank Commander in a Vanquisher with Hull lascannon, squadroned with a plain MBT. (325)

- Lord Commissar. (65)

- Primarys psyker level 2. (75)

Troops;

- Platoon:
-PCS with vox and Missile Launcher.
-Infantry sq 1 with GL and Autocannon and vox.
-Infantry sq 2 with GL and Autocannon.
-Infantry sq 3 with Autocannon.
-Infantry sq 4 with Flamer and Missile Launcher and vox.
-Infantry sq 5 with Flamer and Missile Launcher. (390)

- Veteran Squad: Sgt with power axe and bolt pistol, 2 Melta guns and a flamer, Chimera with a dozer blade (186)

Elite;

-Tempestus Scions, 5 men, plasma gun, plasma pistol, volleygun. (115)

Fast attack;

- Vendetta gunship. (175)

-Bane Wolf with flamer. (130)

Heavy support;

-Wyvern. (65)

-Demolisher. (170)

-Exterminator. (130)

Fortification;

- Aegis defence line plus Quad gun. (100)

Grand Total: (1926) I often mess around with upgrades and swapping units out.

And thats it. Basic idea is that the infantry stay ahead of the tanks, that way once the opponent has wiped the blob squad in close combat, the bane wolf can counter attack. It also keeps distance between the enemy and the tanks which will be cowering behind the Aegis. Scions basically just capture objectives or kill any squad I need dead, the vets are on termie hunting duty and the MBT acts like a sniper, taking out small squads like Devestator marines and stragglers.

I'd like to hear what any of you think about this list, whether you like it or think its just plain dumb.

Signet Powers,

Looks like a fun IG gunline list—70ish troopers behind an aegis supported by 7 tanks and a vendetta.

Note that your exterminator would be a bit better with heavy bolter sponsons and your vanquisher would be improved by adding multi-melta sponsons. But you’d have to drop some fun upgrades (plasma pistol on the stormtroopers, axe on the vets, etc.) to get those sponsons, so it might not be worth your while.

However, I strongly encourage you to find the points to give your Demolisher and your Banewolf dozer blades. After repeatedly immobilizing my Demolishers and Hellhound variants I now see a dozer blades upgrade as mandatory on those suckers. Since they are short ranged tank it really wants to get in close with the foe and they can’t do that if they throws a tread.

Also, note that your points cost on the Banewolf is slightly off.

Good luck!

Thanks for replying Commander.

Good points, although I checked and I'm not sure about how I got the banewolf cost wrong (130 for the tank, flamer for free).

I have 74 points left for a 2000pt list so I can pretty much afford all those upgrades you suggested without losing the axe or pistol.
