I'm looking for some help putting together a 1000 pts list for this upcoming weekend. I have an Imperial Knight that I'm dying to get onto the playing field. I've modeled it as a Crusader with the rapid-fire battle cannon. I really would like to be able to run it with Skitarii/Cult Mechanicus, but am stuck on what else to bring. My group is fine with sub-ing models so I'm open to any suggestions.

Vanguard some transuranic arc rifles and an as onenger.

In my opinion fielding Imperial Knight in a 1000 points games is a bit gakky move but hey...
I would get 3 squads of Vanguard: 2 with triple arc rifles and 1 with triple plasma calivers and fill remaining points with 2 Dragoons (either with lances or jezzails - whatever fits your playstyle) + Crusader with battle cannon (I just assume its the upgrade from thermal cannon - I'm quite new to Imperial Knights).

If you go minimum size you might be able to fit in a Battle Conclave.

Just run minimum squad size and the 325 point Knight.
