Guess this confirms I will be waiting longer for the reprint of IA8. Which stinks because orks could really use the help. Tau and Admech incoming in the next few months.

Okay, both of those are very cool models.
Hopefully orks vs eldar (craft and dark) will be a new IA coming up because those factions desperately need their forgeworld units updated.

Tau, let's add more guns than a ork battlesuit.
The marine one, that looks one good transport. Also huge. It's a mobile buidling.

I really love the Tau aesthetics and this abomination does not fit the army style at all. It looks... dumb. Tau are supposed to be technologically advanced and do not have the need to put tons of guns on their machines to carry significant firepower. It just looks like they have no idea for a Tau walker so they put everything into it. If I wanted to buy such a huge Tau model, I'd rather go for the Tau walker:
EDIT: Of course, that is my point of view as a Tau/Eldar colector I guess this gun-heavy style is appealing to many.

Exactly. And not just lots of guns, lots of guns bolted on randomly without any apparent thought beyond "more guns".

At first I thought it was amusing how many guns were on it - gun fingers, three guns on the back. Silly, but okay.
Then I saw the rocket launchers right under the "chest".. Okay.
Then I saw the gattling guns UNDEr the rocket launchers UNDER the chest.
Then I saw the rockets also on either side of the head.
And then I finally saw the additional gun BETWEEN the gun fingers.
Yeah, no. The battlesuit aspect fits the Tau aesthetic, but this thing is down-right orky with regards to amount of weapons and their placement.

At first I didn't like it being an unfluffy giant walker when Tau combat doctrine is against oversized bullet magnets but then I saw the absurd amount of tacked on extra guns and missiles so now I'm thinking they are making Orks battle brothers with Tau. This is borderline entering the "moar dakka" levels of guns that only an insane Mek would attempt. I thought Forgeworld is above making such hideous (from a practical and Tau fluff design standpoint) gak.

I think those are just detail bits, not guns. The bits next to the head are the same as on the Riptide (and variants), and they aren't weapons. The bits between the "fingers" are just standard ion cannon parts (the usual ion weapon style is an inverted Y).
I did think of one redeeming quality though. We'll get the rules for this abomination, and maybe there will be a way to scratchbuild a tank version of it that looks at least somewhat decent.

Perhaps a tank version would be decent. But still that ammount of guns on a Tau battlesuit is kinda meh. They overkilled it.
I really like most of the forgeworld's tau designs. But the "huge" battlesuits seem to be a bad way to go for the tau. I want a cool looking non-battlesuit machine!

It's not a Tau vehicle.
It's a Looted Riptide.
Orks will be getting rules for looting all vehicles and Monstrous Creatures - not just Rhinos.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

Y'know, it actually makes a kind of sense.
Taros made this big hooplah about the Tau "recognizing the psychological effect and impact on morale" that the Imperial Titans had on Imperial troops.
Why could something similar not be the case for the Tau? Or hell, maybe this thing has no pilot but is actually drone controlled like we saw with "Shas'vre Ob'Lotai 9-0" in "Codex: Farsight Enclave".
For those who aren't aware, Ob'Lotai is a Broadside suit piloted "not by a flesh and blood Tau, but by a late-generation mnemonic AI engram of the original Shas'vre Ob'lotai".

The Ion Weapon is the normal Ion Canon Profile but Heavy 3, ordnance, twin linked ( per Side)
Also includes an overcharge profile and a nova profile ( for both aides)
Nova profile is strength D Heavy 2 large blast, if you fail the Nova charge you take 1+ d3 wounds..
The Artillerie like gun is like the rvarna gun, only with buffed profile, like massive blast.
If you overcharge it it goes apocalyptic barrage.
No penalty for shooting it every turn..
Rocket Mags Are the Same as on broadside but with skyfire.
Burst canon things got a Special rule, i think it was called close quarter defense whatever, my english is not the best.
Gives them the ability to Fire overwatch Even being a superheavy at full bs with the burst canons.
Able to take all the battlesuit upgrades.
No JSJ ability.
Stats were something like bs3 T 9 W 8 str10 ws 1 ini 1 armour save 2+, Invul 5+,
Can take up to 6 drones with rockets, drones can get a skyfire update.
Reactor rules were not all being told about, improved shooting for Main guns, an attack against all models in base contact with haywire and Fleshbane.
Thats all i can remember
