So what's people's favourite transports. Looking for any transport and it can be for its rules, model or the fluff behind it.
Fluff one probably has to be the Caestus Assualt Ram, love the idea of repurposed craft used for smashing into spaships to ram enemy flyers and deliver elite shock troops where they're least expected.
Model wise o really enjoy the look of the Taurox, but inly when you get a wheeled conversion kit. Admittedly they are a bit goofy but they fit well with my play of modern style tactics.
Haven't got a particular favourite for rules, but I do find when I use chimeras I tend to subconsciously move them towards any water terrain on the board.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Even with the smack from the nerf bat, I still love my night scythes. The look good, and they guarantee a safe delivery of whatever I put in them almost to exactly whereever I want them. They can then fly off and cause havoc with a pretty decent weapon.

Anvillus Pattern Dreadclaw assault pod.
It's a drop pod and they said feth it, we want that thing to be able to lift of again so we're sticking a massive jet engine under it so a crazy feth can fly that thing through the battlefield, burning stuff with said jet engine.
I don't know if loyalists have this but the rules just scream Chaos to me.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"
"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"
"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"
"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!" |

Well I had the one from Sabol, and it's not bad, I think all the pick and pluck is basically the same hit and miss on glue quality.
I just picked up one of those laser cut "kevlar" 1500XL cases from a new company I can't remember the name of, and I like their stuff mostly better.

Drop pods. The cinematic opportunities of tear drop-shaped metal boxes slamming down from orbit, bursting open with marines clomping out is too badass.
Unfortunately, I have never played an army that could take them natively.

"Because the Wolves kill cleanly, and we do not. They also kill quickly, and we have never done that, either. They fight, they win, and they stalk back to their ships with their tails held high. If they were ever ordered to destroy another Legion, they would do it by hurling warrior against warrior, seeking to grind their enemies down with the admirable delusions of the 'noble savage'. If we were ever ordered to assault another Legion, we would virus bomb their recruitment worlds; slaughter their serfs and slaves; poison their gene-seed repositories and spend the next dozen decades watching them die slow, humiliating deaths. Night after night, raid after raid, we'd overwhelm stragglers from their fleets and bleach their skulls to hang from our armour, until none remained. But that isn't the quick execution the Emperor needs, is it? The Wolves go for the throat. We go for the eyes. Then the tongue. Then the hands. Then the feet. Then we skin the crippled remains, and offer it up as an example to any still bearing witness. The Wolves were warriors before they became soldiers. We were murderers first, last, and always!" —Jago Sevatarion
