Bretonnians AOS - 50

So i recently bought the Bretonnian box set to start AOS and this is the list a came up with:

Bretonnian Lord (5)
- Pegasus

Knights of the Realm (14)
- 7 Knights of the Realm
- Gallant
- Banner Bearer
- Trumpeter

Men at Arms (20)
- 20 Men at Arms
- Warden
- Drummer
- Trumpeter
- Standard Bearer
- Relic Bearer

Peasant Bowman (11)
- 11 Peasant Bowman
- Villein
- Drummer
- Trumpeter
- Standard Bearer
- Relic Bearer

I am wondering if i should take grail knights instead of knights of the realm. And any improvements i have 5 more peasant bowman and a extra knight

This is quite a nice list, But i would be worried about dueling with the ' big monsters ' as now any one can take anything maybe trying to get a trebuchet or some other kind of warmachine.

I dunno, the Lord can do a lot of damage against monsters (5 attacks, reroll failed to hit rolls vs monsters, hit on 3+ and d3+1 damage when charging) Rend -1 is the most disappointing part of it, I guess. Combined with the damage a unit of Knights of the Realm do on a charge....

If he's holding the monster/enemy line with men-at-arms, he can keep withdrawing and recharging until the enemy is dead.

'S pretty good overall, as long as he doesn't get into prolonged, inescapable combat with his knights.

I'm not sure you've got the bits to make both a standard bearer and a relic bearer - I think they're the different 'banner tops' in the kit.

Doesn't really matter, just a comment.

In terms of not being pinned down in combat - that's what the peasants are for. With a paladin nearby they're not too fragile - they can keep big units bogged down whilst the knights take on the important units that they can kill on the charge.

I doubt anyone would complain about you using the models as grail knights - depends if you have easy access to a goblet......

i checked the sprues, the relic and the standard are different pieces so its all good, i will probably use them as knights of the realm at the moment, what do you think if i painted them sigmars stormcast eternal colours as sigmar seems to be protecting all the good humans at the moment.

Your army, do whatever you want with the colours! I saw some pictures (which I think were official GW) last night which had a bunch of Empire Flagellants and War Priests painted in Stormcast (gold and blue) colours. Looked great!

Not sure HOW you could get into a prolonged, inescapable combat since Retreat is now a normal option.

If he's facing anything fast moving himself - he can retreat as part of his move, but the enemy can follow him and charge again.

For a retreat to be worth it, you need to be able to break off so you can charge again in your next charge phase.

I'd see about trying to build towards the Defenders of the Realm battalion scroll. Firstly, it's a good mix of units and gives you a nasty added bonus. Secondly, it wouldn't surprise me if any future 'this is how you balance pick-up games' rule (which is supposedly coming) is based off these things.

Looking at the war scrolls the bretonnian lord looks slightly better, and I don't really like special characters, the fay enchantress is ok as fluff wise she is just going to be a damsel of the lady riding a unicorn with a special sword, also she is almost better in every way when compared to a normal damsel ot the lady
