This is my first go at a Farsight Enclaves list. I am going for a take all comers list that will be competitive (casually not looking for top tier tourney) against any army. This list actually comes in at 979 points, although I'm sure i'll do some adjusting. Eventually I will want to grow this army to 1850, but these are the models that I've started with. In addition to what I have listed I have access to an ethereal, about 18 fire warriors and about 10 pathfinders. My next pickup will likely be some broadsides. I do have a few specific questions to keep in mind:
1. I didn't think any of the FE signature systems looked good at all except maybe Earth Caste Pilot Array. Is that (or any other) signature system worth taking?
2. I was really at a loss as to if I should put any support systems on my crisis suits, so I chose to leave them pretty plain for now. Is there any support systems you would recommend?
3. The drone squadron - is it better to use all marker drones or (what i'm thinking) 4 shield drones and 8 marker drones?
4. Do I need more diversity on my Crisis Suits, or should I keep ramming plasma and fusion?
5. Is there ever any reason to take a burst cannon over a SMS on a skyray?

Skyray Missile Defence Gunship - 131
SMS, Blacksun, Disruption Pod
What do you guys think? Is this a good start to an 1850 list?
What would be your next purchases?
1. Talisman of Arthas Moloch can also be quite useful. ECPA on a Riptide is a wonderful thing.
2. Target Lock can really spread the hurt in a Crisis Team.
3. Stick to all Marker Drones.
4. Switch up your Crisis loadouts depending on what army you could be facing. (Magnetize your minis if you can). Missile Pods can come in handy for Crisis Suits attached with Marker Drones,
5. In my experience, no.
As for your list, the only changes I'd make are no VT on the Riptide and change the plasmas on the Commander to MPs.
If you can, pick up six Broadsides and start fielding the FBSC.
Missile pods are easily the most versatile weapon and should be used a lot in TAC lists
Farsight signatures besides the ECPA suck. Riptides in FSE detachments can take FSE signature systems even though the ones in Tau Empire detachments can not

I'm assuming you're going to run the commander with the drones? If so, you might have a few too many drones. You won't really need 9 - 10 markerlights on 1 target (or you shouldn't anyway).
As others have mentioned, the change from plasma to missiles will help you out in more situations than not.
ECPA on a HBC riptide is one of the main draws to playing FSE, other than crisis troops IMHO, going without that is criminal.

It depends I like it a lot more on the broadsides. I HBC ECPA riptide is good, but I've not fount it as awesome as others. It benefits massively from marker lights

What makes the EWO so good? Drop pods and Skyhammer. Last tourney I went to out of about 40 players there must have been about 15 Skyhammer formations.
I definitely think i'll change the riptide to be HBC with ECPA.
Sould I still take EWO and VT on him, or should I switch to something else?
I'll probably swap the plasma suits for Missile Suits, although I do play a lot of meq, and I tend to think the plasma will be better for that. Eventually at 1850, I would have a team of 3 plasma and a team of 3 missile pod.

Is hbc ecpa riptide hands down better than ion accelerator Ina tac list?
It is good because of drop pod marines. There is nothing worse than, when you opponent drops in grav centurions on turn 1 and kills your riptide before you even get to use it. When you can intercept them and kill 2 or 3 (Probably closer to 1 or 2), you get a chance to use your riptide and get your points cost out of it. EWO is soooo good. They are only 5 points for each model that can take it.
Another thing to consider, if you are running plasma with EWO and your opponent has rapid fire weapons, they will think twice before dropping them within double tap range, because you out range them. So either you will get double tap or your opponent won't, either way, you are killing stuff on the interceptor.
On a side note, I am hard pressed to find any reason to run missile suits over plasma & fusion when you have access to broadsides.
