The 2 easiest ones are plastic Catachans for Goliaths and suitably converted plastic cultists for Cawdor. There are a lot of 28mm Sci Fi models but few of them match the aesthetic that well.

IMO, the Heresy figures, whilst nice, are on the high side for me, price wise, although admittedly, probably not as expensive as sourcing some originals from Ebay.

They are pretty pricy yes, but from a kiwi perspective they are significantly cheaper than GW prices now. The gang set of ten models costs $90 or so, 10 assault marines costs $166!

Incidentally Heresy are currently running a 25% off sale on all metal models so the ten model gang is just under 32GBP.

If you use the slightly wheedier Catachan Command box, they make some pretty good Orlocks as well

I think they are okay. I have a few (3rd from the left below) and think that they match in well enough, if a little slenderer that GWs offerings. Juves are a better match than the 'dults but humans come in all shapes and sizes.

Statuesque (Resistance Fighters) and Raging Heroes Blood Vestals make a good basis for Escher, if you don't mind a bit of converting. They do have very slender hands/wrists if you want Necromunda weapons on them, which requires allot of very fine pinning even if you can get the old OOP Necro weapon sprues. My (not very clear) efforts with some GW mixed in for scale -

Raging Heroes also have allot of other SciFi females that would do for Escher.

I really liked the Chaos cultists used for Cawdor. Take a look at Panics gang, very nicely done and having a heavy stubber and flamer in the basic range speaks of someone at GW still being a Necro fan!

The old starship troopers mobile infantry make a decent Van Saar cause they're all suited up. Not sure how available they are these days though.
