Skull Island Expeditions Link here has all of their short stories, novellas, collected editions etc. There is also at least one stand alone novel. Work block is preventing me from discovering it, though Into the Storm might be what I was thinking of.

No wargames these days, more DM/Painting.

I paint things occasionally. Some things you may even like!

Enter The Storm, by Larry Correia, author of Monster Hunter International.
Great book.
He loved the game and frequented the forums. Then PP were like "Whoa, this New York Times Bestelling author likes our game? Think he'll write for us?"
Larry was like, "Sure thing!"

See what a little communication with fans gets ya?

Also, check out my history blog: Minimum Wage Historian, a fun place to check out history that often falls between the couch cushions.

They have some short novellas. Nothing huge yet, but they are coming out with more.

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

Most of the fluff is in the actual rulebooks, expansions and "Forces of" books.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

"Long ago in a distant land, I, M'kar, the shape-shifting Master of Chaos, unleashed an unspeakable evil! But a foolish Grey Knight warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to oppose me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in space and flung him into the Warp, where my evil is law! Now the fool seeks to return to real-space, and undo the evil that is Chaos!"

I found Into the Storm to be alright. I mean it wasn't a bad book, but its not something I'll read twice at all. Hopefully their next book is better, because novellas really don't do it for me by and large, I'd rather have a full length book that I can enjoy reading for a while, rather than one I finish way too quickly.

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

I did enjoy the Butcher's novella. Was never really a fan of him in the game until I read it, really made me look at him with different eyes.

Into the Storm is great. The basic storyline is not that unique. Group of black sheep no one wants comes together to save city. But some of the characters are very interesting, especially their interactions with each other. They make and break a lot of IK stereotypes. Especially Acosta.

And they are turning it into a series based around Acosta I believe. Second book is likely to be out later this year.

I also really enjoyed the Caine novella. I wish it went a little longer and deeper, but gives you some interesting insight into Caine and gun mages.

The book on Makeda was quite interesting. I have not read up on Skorne much and it was cool.

Extraordinary zoology was interesting if you are into the IKRPG as it really gets into some interesting interactions and facts. But I found the story to be ok. And the characters were interesting, but I couldn't quite buy into them really well as being "realistic".

I've heard the Butcher book is amazing, but I haven't read it yet.

The short stories can be hit or miss. I felt some of them had a lot of promise, but then kind of fell short.
