Evening all,
Have been putting together the basics of a CSM Night Lords warband-themed army and would appreciate a critique. The idea will be to try and stick to the fluff of Night Lords using fear tactics and high-mobility strikes, so Noise Marines with Pinning ability weapons fits in with that, I think. Definite future editions will be Raptors for their Fast Attack abilities and their Fear special rule, but I'm keeping it simple right now for learning / monetary purposes.
Night Lords Chaos Space Marines Warband List
HQ:
1) Chaos Lord (65pt)
- w/ Mark of Slaanesh (15pt)
- w/ Terminator Armour (40pt)
- Total: 120pt
TROOPS:
1) Noise Marine Squad (95pt)
- w/ 5 additional (85pt) for a total of 10 Marines
- w/ 2 Blastmasters (60pt)
- w/ Champion takes Doom siren (15pt)
- Total: 255pt
2) Noise Marine Squad (95pt)
- w/ 5 additional (85pt) for a total of 10 Marines
- w/ 2 Blastmasters (60pt)
- w/ Champion takes Doom siren (15pt)
- Total: 255pt
ELITE:
1) Helbrute w/ standard Multi-melta and Powerfist (100pt)
TOTAL: 730 points

What's with the naked helbrute? You have 20 points left, you can give it something at least.
Otherwise speaking a pretty mean list at such a low points game. Are those noise marines supposed to not be in a Rhino?

As andy said, give the helbrute some gear, other than that I'd say it's a strong list.

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

Thanks for the feedback comrades, much appreciated.
The naked Helbrute is purely because I have one knocking around from the Dark Vengeance boxset, and it being a "push-clip" model rather than a standard one you glue together means that the MM and the PF that are part of the model are not capable of being changed. I figured the Multi-melta would at least be useful as my principle anti-armour weapon for the time being.
Similarly with the lack of integrated transport; I'm keeping my start-up costs low so I'm not looking to spend on vehicles just yet. Both of these pieces of advice I will keep in mind for the future once cash allows an expansion of my warband's capabilities.
Glad I seem to be on the right track though. Many thanks.

Melta bombs on the champs in order to have more ways of dealing with armour might be nice.
I'd say it looks nice except mobility. I would perhaps drop a BM and some NM and get a rhino for at least one squad. They can ride in it, and still shoot one BM, from the firing points, and after they disembark the rhino can go get another objective or something.
Tho what I'd really do is drop the Helbrute and get a Maulerfiend. They are very fast and pack way more punch than a Helbrute. And they have 5++ and IWND (the latter sucks, but might be useful if lucky).

I usually yell "MAULERFRIEND" as soon as I speak to any CSM player. They are immensly fun and useful, and should be tried by everyone.

Maulerfiends are amazing for their points, though the one drawback is how quickly a single model will get dropped being that they can be huge fire-magnets.
Being solely a melee powerhouse you're going to have to be smart on how you maneuver the Fiend close enough. Bonus though is they have Siege Crawler for that sweet, sweet move through cover.
To echo the others, only shortcoming I see in the last is lack of Rhino's for the troops. Though points are tight at 750, so you might be okay.

Thanks for the advice. A development of infantry transport capabilities will be definitely on the list for later in the warband's development as funds permit.

It's seems like a great list but I need to ask why is it slaanesh themed , seeming as night lords have no allegiance to any chaos God
