Me too, though I think I'll have to leave it at a dollar =/

If anyone was in this boat for the scifi kickstarter, I actually have an untouched Hulk plus medbay set that I'm going to be putting on ebay this weekend. If a Dakkanaut wants it, I'll let it go for 50% of what I paid... I paid 90 pounds = $140, and would sell it for $70, plus $5 towards shipping.

PM me if interested, cheers!

That is not a bad deal, what's up, get too much or just decide you don't need it/prefer to spend the cash elsewhere?

I would be interested if I weren't spread so thin from holiday purchases. You may want more for shipping though that's liable to be a heavy box

Yeah, that's why I said "towards" shipping (I'd cover the rest). Not wanting to make this thread about me so that's the last I'll mention it, just wanted to give the folks of Dakka who might have backed and wanted more a chance at it first.

For me, it's more a fact that I drive a long way to game stores to play, and they provide terrain. I had wanted to start building up my own but for now it just makes sense to use the store provided terrain. I'm actually focusing on Dropzone Commander for my own terrain, since the local stores don't currently have much terrain in that smaller scale.

Yeah I think not playing much is the reason half of mine is sitting in the box. If I have a change of heart I'll let you know but either way good luck with it

Don't. I really regretted buying into the KS once it arrived. Its made out to be "pop out and play" and its seriously not. You have to modify practiaclly every damn slot with a knife to get the bits to fit together, and the sad fact is it doesn't look anything like as nice in the flesh (card?) as their pictures did.

Takes some fiddling about but it looks alright in the end. Haven't made much of a dent on mine yet though sadly.

Yeah, that's where I'm at - I did hear that it was a lot of work/time to get together, and I'm pretty booked up at the moment! Still, seems to provide a ton of cool SciFi wall terrain for the price... that said, I also think they learned that they don't need to make the base out of the same card, and went with a mat for the second campaign so that all of the card can go towards actually making walls/terrain.

The fantasy campaign turned out what I'm assuming will be a tighter and stronger product. Their fortress walls, for instance, are superior in many ways to scifi's bunker walls. The fortress can make stand-alone structures whereas the bunker merely dresses the outside of your scifi set-up. If I'm disappointed with anything it's that I got bunker instead of spending that cash towards more addons or what have you.

The rubber mats are also excellent too, if anything like the DZ/MA mats.

Web Shop…

Later this week we will be opening up our new webshop from which you'll be able to order the stock from our Sci-fi Kickstarter campaign. This is our surplus stock so we have limited numbers and not everything is available (sorry, no turbines!) but there's lots of good stuff for those who want more goodies If the stock sells well we'll do a new print run for retail. We'll post another update when the webshop goes live

Buy our stuff

BackerKit...

There is still a handful of people who haven't received their terrain because we don't know where they live! Please get in contact to get your goodies. Similarly, if you haven't received your goods yet please email us at info@battlesystems.co.uk and we'll sort it out.

Cheers

Wayne and Colin.

I've still got half of mine left to get primed for use, and I've barely coated any of it with glue either. Add in shipping... and I'll probably be leaving the surplus for other backers.

We're very happy to tell you that the webshop is now open!

Currently, we're selling the surplus Sci-fi terrain only but plenty of you guys have been chomping at the bit to get more of the good stuff. Some of the add-ons are very rare and some are just not available but there's still plenty of goodness to be had. If the surplus stock sells well we'll do a second print run including all add-ons

So if you want to jump in and grab a fistful head on over to:http://shop.battlesystems.co.uk

Cheers

Wayne and Colin.

So this terrain was a KS only and then that's it? The whole appeal of this type of terrain is that you can buy more and add on. What is the point if it's gone once the KS supply runs out?

My emphasis. They always *wanted* to make more of it and possibly have it as a regular thing they sell, but you never know what's going to happen when you run a project like this. If they rapidly sell out of their backstock and there's still interest, they'll make more but for it to be economical they have to put in a relatively large order so they have to know they can move it once it's paid for.

Late reply, but something KS *doesn't* do well is tell you how many units you will sell retail. In fact, KS does *nothing* to help a creator enter the retail-distribution chain. I know of at least one creator (some sort of dragon-themed products) who went bankrupt because he *did* create product for retail, and mis-estimated how many units he should have made. Many projects *do* have a high initial overhead, such as miniatures molds, and KS is useful to get past this obstacle. But it's not a cure-all, and doesn't help for items which don't have this overhead (eg. handmade items made one at a time). I'm guessing that since BS have the die cutters and art paid for, that a print run would be less expensive than had they not used KS, but they'd still have a minimum order to make if they wanted to print more units.

Well after 3 years waiting for a restock / reprint of the original Battle System Sci-fi Modular Terrain and monitoring the continually changing restocking dates posted on the shop, I like many others has still not been able to purchase addons to go with my base set. Like many others it was a major disappointment to see the announcement that there will never be a reprint https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1621774283/battle-systemstm-sci-fi-modular-terrain/posts/1658127. More frustrating is that there will be no .pdf purchase option for print & play and the Sci-fi II range is not backward compatible with the ramp system removed, connection positions changes and a colour scheme that does not match.

So yes I missed the kick starter and yes I didn't see the chance to buy the surplus stock with only 2 days notice, but I cant be the only one who is frustrated.

My question: did any of the backers (like myself) photograph or scan their sheets before assembly? In particular I've been looking for Sheet 11 wall console & window wall, Sheet 12 Medi-bay and Sheets 17 / 18 Bunkers.

PS: to answer the pen colors question is the attached image.

Well, most of the "old" stuff is not even close to be on par with their most recent stuff. They've learned so much and improved every single Kickstarter.

I can feel their decision to not sell the old stuff anymore. I am pretty sure the next one will be a refresh of the old one. I don't know that, but that's what makes the most sense.
