Mrs said I should put images of my models online. So here it is.

The first two images are of the only orlock I'm going to show at the moment due to the rest being the old metal models and came painted (will one day repaint them). The orlock is an original plastic one with Dark-Angels-Azrael's left arm and a empire / mordhiem mercenary's right arm with hammer.

now for my "mutant" gang - got the idea from someone else - cannot remember who it was but their models were so much better than what i managed to create. the base models are bloodletters with bits added from various sources, mainly from an orks bits box i picked up from ebay. the heavy stubber was created by cutting off the end of a shoota and gluing it ton another - this also created the pistol for the flamer guy.

next on show is an old gang that i tried to convert into the samurai from Sucker Punch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-bCGOthQ5k, i used the GW Lord of the Rings models: the plastic Easterling Warriors for the main body. The heavy uses a 40k Tau busrt cannon. due to all the swords on the models they were mainly used as Eschers.

i also have a mix of delaque. i say mix as i bought one lot early on and then the other set (which included the Heresy Miniature heavy "Crazy Joe"?) at least 3 years apart. i did this mainly due to the fact that i was getting rid of some models which i had converted and need to replace them. my first gang was really small and so to make up the numbers i tried to convert original plastic Orlocks into Delaque by filing down the hair and adding trench coats.... it did not look good so i flogged them on ebay and replaced them with the original metal delaque. the second set came partly painted hence the difference in colours. one of the juves has got a hand flamer / flamer added and a ganger with a l as gun had the end chopped off to make a melta gun.

Now come the current generation of conversions, the previous lot were done about 2011, this lot was done this year after much musing and previous conversions which i was not happy with. one of them was the enforcers / adeptus arbites i initially used imperial guard and some other parts but I was not happy with them and so they were sent out to pasture on ebay. the next batch i copied https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Di0YKChvwto idea of using space marine scouts as a base but i did not like the way he took his - to Judge Dredd(y). i looked about a bit for heads and ended up using these: http://maxmini.eu/conversion-bits/head-swaps/police-helmets-bits and since i was there i got these for riot shields http://maxmini.eu/conversion-bits/melee-weapons-shields/anti-riot-gear-bits

the sergeant Telion model was initially used in the early stages as a bounty hunter but with the conversion of enforcers that kind of look like him i decided to repaint parts and have him as a judge or sergeant alternative.

the sergeant was convert from a chaos cultist leader as i like the trench coat and kind of looked like the original sergeant, a space marine scout bike shotgun and a head and weapon swap, initially i was going to put an space marine standard top on top of his head but it made him look too tall.

For the paint scheme i was inspired by Archibald Jack's models on here but didn't go as black, i also wanted blue in there some where so it went into the visor on the heads.

scavvy gang with parts as WIP. the main gang is complete and painted with all but eye stalks and wings modelled. the gang is based on the GW plastic chaos cultist from 40k. the mutations are mainly part swaps and cutting/drilling/gluing etc (really like the tentacle - used a paper clip and then green stuff), they were initially going to be used to convert into Delaque gang (see here for inspiration http://pigironblog.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/necromunda-delaque-conversions.html ) but seeing as got some replacements that went out the window and so i had them spare and because the cultist models look like scavengers thought they would make good scavvy.

the scalies, as you can guess are adapted from my mutant gang with some bits extra to make them look a bit more civilised, the spear gun / coil gun (taken from someone's conversions - again cannot remember who sorry - really good model though) is scrap built mainly from a washing peg. i wanted them to look really big hence building up one of the bases to make the one with the scatter cannon taller - then i read / remembered an article about game play implications and causing more of the model to be exposed from cover etc, hence the spear gunner is smaller.

the zombies are just from the warhammer range with some extras - to make them similar to my other gangs (at the moment my van saars and delaque have one fallen ganger represented)

This was the first gang conversion I did from the recent batch, but sadly I got distracted by other gangs and have not finished it. And again I saw wyches used to convert eschers here: http://easternfringe.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=7594&start=15&sid=2a740a50f6d524ad5513507cb7bc2457&view=print

Because the frames of the models are so small / slim I used a normal ork shoota for a heavy stubber, I tried to use the male torso with weapons / arms that cover the chest / boobs and use female heads on these – but this resulted in male heads being sued on female torsos, so this looks a bit off. Also I was not happy with the conversion I did on the shotgun(er) as I messed up the arm and it looks bad. I do like my conversion of Mad Donna though the hair is shorter (and I’m not confident on sculpting that much hair out of green stuff yet) – as to why I have two: I converted one and then saw the original on ebay on the cheap so snapped it up. More work to do in the future and possibly adding more models – not sure on wyches though – might replace them lot.

P.S. those hearts on the shoulder pad were sooooo hard to sculpt to start with ... had to get the wife to make them in the end.

Van Saar WIP. i converted an old Var Saar gang years ago out of pre made Tau fire warriors as i like their torsos - didn't turn out as good as i had hoped so round two make them from unmade tau fire warrior torsos or other torsos. i bought some eldar dire avenger torsos and thought i could use the dark eldar male wyches torso to make the bodysuits van saars are famed for, but had to use the dark eldar torsos (she above), so i went back to basics and went with the tau, though i used the dire avenger torsos to make some veterans / alternative models (not sure about the shotgun as thinking of changing it to as las gun to be more tech(y)) - needs a lot of green stuff to match up with the legs.

Speaking of legs - they are mainly from two sources http://maxmini.eu/conversion-bits/legs/combat-armour-legs-bits (emailed them had they swapped out the kneeling ones) and http://bitsofwar.com/home/41-running-guardsmen-legs.html
i initially started using a load of imperial guard arms - for the las guns etc but started to not like the shoulder pads (as they were starting to look like the enforcers i had just finished) so had to raid the bits box or parts.

also with Van Saar they have to be beard(y) so i had one of two options - empire free company beardy heads (did that last time - leftovers from mordheim) or space wolves heads ... went for space wolves this time. i ran out of beardy space wolves heads and so used two normal space marine scout heads with techy bits on (will have to sculpt green stuff beards later).

Awaiting on plasma cannon off ebay to convert the last miniature into a heavy.

The future holds more planned conversions and painting - I already have a house Cawdor gang but its nothing special and my pre mentioned Orlocks. I plan to make Goliaths out of Ork boys / nobs as I think the models are a good base to start with - being muscular and spike. See the two test models I made out of gorkamork orks - not happy with the second one's head / neck (didn't cut it back enough) but with the new plastic models = easier to model.

also have plans for a redemptionist gang with some modelling (all ready have the original metal models just wanted to add some character. my main modelling project for them will be the arch zealot as not happy with the original model as the image in the outlander book is so much better - will be attempting to convert the leader with the flamer and sword into him as he matches the image better than anything else I’ve seen.

Also plan to make karloth vlois out of a chaos sorcerer as again not happy with the original metal model.

Also want to rip off a bull gorg model I saw using the warhammer nurgle lord - looks really good

Also not sure about converting ratskins as the original metal models are nice and started to pick up a few off eBay.

Spyre hunters I want to convert and seen a few good examples (using wyches for some / space marine parts for others) - also want to convert matriarch and patriarch

Under hive scum and bounty hunters - want to do them / find them cheap on eBay

Pit slaves - I’m half and half on doing a gladiatorial style gang or a forced work crew gang (make them look like miners / industrial crew etc)

wyrds - want to use dark eldar mandrake for a pyro but not sure on the others.

The Redemptionists with some WIP (and no i didn't cut the Zealot with massive axe up i got it in a bundle off ebay and it already had been worked on and had a shotgun off an old Orlock model. so i converted it into a Decon armed with a Bolter as i had a load of shotguns already). the Arch Zealot also needs some more work on it - more green stuff.

Bounty hunters:

1. Converted from Chaos Cultist Leader, removed the head and collar and fixed a SM scout head to it and then removed the sword in favour of a bolter. Green stuff was added to cover the gaps and the chaos symbols.

2. Basic necromunda model found on eBay (missing the robotic arm so I replaced it with an imperial guard arm I had knocking about).

Wyrds:

1. Pyromaniac converted from Dark Eldar mandrake – just cut down the ears. Thinking to add a little more wash (red) to the torso to fill in the details to make it look more fiery.

2. Telekinetic wyrd – used imperial guard parts for the body (torso from the command sprue) then got empire knights head and grey knight’s staff off eBay. The left arm was initially a catachan but it looked too big and so I changed it to a Tau arm I had spare (and added an extra finger via green stuff).

3. Telepath was made from left over parts – imperial guard catachan body and legs, skaven left arm, mordhiem archer’s right arm and a zombie head (thought it had a good zoned out look to it).

Enforcer dog handler and (non) cyber mastiff:

The dog is from anvil industries as it looks good and is relatively cheap (you can get four of these for what the original model is going for on eBay).

The handler was made up due to non of the previous enforces looking right. I made it from imperial guard left over parts – I like the pointing arm and the different armour, makes him stand out and looks lighter so he could keep up with his running mastiff.

Inquisitor and retinue

I wanted to have an inquisitor and retinue “gang” just as an NPC gang that could be used in scenarios or a special campaign story. So I got distracted from finishing the vanilla gangs to play with these.

The inquisitor was found on ebay on the cheap and it was painted – nothing special about it

Henchmen: all have necron faces as I saw another conversion and wanted to copy it (plagiarism is a running theme here). The back halves are mainly from scouts to get the ear piece / radios. The one on the left was the first attempt and I messed up the necron face (cutting the lower jaw off and now it looks too small).

Most have bear left arms (as it was what was laying around in the bits box) and I was thinking of branding them giving them an inquisitorial tattoo / mark. The one on the right was painted with dark flesh to show that he was from “off world” and grew up actually seeing the sun etc.

Redemptionist additions

I wanted a model to represent each option for the Deacons.

Bolter: seen before but painted

Las Gun and grenade launcher: modelled from imperial guard catachan models with the heads off the chaos cultist leader (had two spare from previous conversions).

Plasma gun: original brethren model which I found in a bundle from eBay coverted with a shotgun (initially tried to sell it on eBay as had too many shotgun models). Simply removed the plastic shotgun and added the plasma gun – had to green stuff the right hand.

The back left model is a converted Sisters of battle confessor model (missing parts got from eBay). Removed the book in the left hand and then repositioned the hand to hold a bolter. Then added a chain sword from SM (sterngaurd veterans) sprue.

Bull Gorg

has been sitting on my desk for ages, had to wait till i found the right parts on eBay (on the cheap), the body is that of a nurgle lord, head is a spacewolf space marine/scout, and the chain sword arms are 4 chaos chain swords stuck together, the backpack was left over parts from imperial guard i had knocking about. add in green stuff and its nearly done.

running theme of this is plagiarism, i saw someone else do a conversion based on the nurgle lord and it look awesome so i copied it

someone? you mean everyone right? haha. I think everyone has converted the nurgle lord to a nerco/inquisitor character at some point, I certainly have.
your paint jobs arent too bad. could do with some washes to contrast the highlights, but my main advice is BASES! you can have the nicest model in the world but if its base sucks its going nowhere, and cool bases are easy to make. grab some sand, bits of rocks, some cork coasters, and misc bits from your bits box and go nuts.
