Somewhere in the dark...

HQ: Prince with jet pack

Troops:

3 x 5 man unit of jet pack corsairs with a missile launcher per units
3 x 1 wasp assault walker with dual scatter lasers (deep striking)

Elite: 1 x 5 man voidstorm squad with jet packs, 2 fusion guns and haywaire grenades (deep striking)

FA:

2 x 2 hornet squadrons with dual pulse lasers (outflanking)
1 x nightwing

Heavy Support:

1 x Phoenix Bomber
1 x Warp Hunter

Allied Detachment: Craftworld Eldar

HQ:

Autarch on jetbike with laser lance

Troops:

2 x 3 man scatter bikes

I'm worried about deployment because i have a few units in reserve and the units that will start on the table are quite fragile. Also, do I have enough anti flyer? I think i do but I'm not sure.

I think the list is pretty much take all comers except for assault but I'll be trying to avoid that. It's the fragile nature of the list that concerns me, epsecially if i end up going second against a good alpha strike list.

While I haven't ever played with corsairs before, I am wanting to get into them. How do you play them? Do they get battle focus and bladestorm? Just out of curiosity. I think you have a very specialized, fast, glass-cannon army. The hornets will wreck havoc when they come in, the Wasps will do some work as well, and I think you have air covered with the nightwing. The warp hunter will be target #1 for your opponent until your reserves come in, and if I remember the weapon is only 24" range right? Might be tricky to hide but still be effective in the game.

I am very interested in getting into corsairs in the future, but all the FW money is making me take a step back. Do you play them regularly? How do you fare against most opponents? Thanks for the help!

I hope my comments were helpful.

I find corsairs really pack a punch when they can bring all of their firepower to bear - but that's the trick because they are very squishy and i notice a real drop off in power once you lose a few units.

What I've tried to do with this list is add in a lot of redundancy so that losing one or two units won't hurt too much and most things have a high rate of mid to high strength firepower. Except for close combat, which Corsairs are dreadful at I think i have the basis of a take all comers list here. What worries me the most is coming up against a strong alpha strike list - I've almost been tabled turn 1 before now by not deploying enough and only having very squishy units on the board. My plan with this list is to deploy most things and with the redundancy i have built in to the list i should be able to maintain some high offensive power late into the game.

As for rules, some weapons aren't updated to 7th ed Eldar such as lasblasters and Corsairs don't get battle focus. IA11 does however reference the codex for the missile launchers so the corsairs get sky fire. Shuriken weaponry gets bladestorm. Some of the units have been updated in other IA books too - imperial armour aeronautica now has the updated rules for the flyers which saw a bit of a nerf and imperial armour apocalypse updated the warp hunter and hornets - a nerf and a boost respectively.

I was curious what rules people would use for the Warp Hunter. It's a sick tank and I LOVE it's gun, but it is heavy 3, 3" blast, Distort* which is from the codex before Craftworlds...I actually emailed Reece at frontline to see what they'd rule in the ITC if I get my stuff and wanted to bring them to an ITC even lol Check out my list I wrote in the army list sections that's a combo of eldar/corsairs as well! Good show!

Frontline gaming has a list of the most up to date rules and which book they're in on their website. It would be interesting to see how reece rules on it. I would imagine it still allows 'distort' since in the era of d weapons it's a toned down version and the itc now allows ranged d doesn't it?

The warp hunter took a massive nerf from its original incarnation anyway. I'll check your list out too.

Good stuff, and ya I love the tank. Like a contemporary tank destroyer. BAG, big ass gun lol Ya I agree, but all distort weapons are D weapons now, so IDK how he'll go on it.

If you go with the Distort from the Eldar codex prior to Craftworlds, it's pretty deadly. The weapon profile is either heavy 3, 3" blast, distort or a template with s7ap3, distort as well - but the distort rule is ID on a 6, and auto pens on vehicles on 6 no matter the AV. So land raiders and knights beware lol
