Subject: Wargames Foundry news-Unreleased GW models, July 31
As best as I can understand it, lately Foundry has been specializing in re-releasing older models, and most of their range from the 2000s has gone OOP.
So they've launched a new company, Casting Room Miniatures to bring back their range from the 2000s.

Wow, thanks for pointing that out!
I had seen the medieval civillians on ebay but the shipping was as much as the set. With that offer they are much more desirable!
Street Mercenaries? Urban Zulu Warriors? The feth?
Somehow I am now tempted to buy those mercenaries, go find a museum with a XV-XVI century spanish diorama and put those guys in.
cheers

Since most of the interest seems to be in the Street Fighter line it's worth mentioning that Foundry central also has a similar line (but no free shipping).
I disagree entirely. They have character that puts them miles above a lot of modern, clean, often 3d designed sculpts.

Hell, yeah!
I ordered more of those Plague Apothecaries last year, and was bitterly disappointed that they had been discontinued! (I needed them for a Pathfinder game....)

+1 to that. Something about classic minis, despite their flaws, just seem to have more character than many modern minis.

The paintjobs aren't helping; clearly they can't afford Kevin Dallimore these days. :(
I can see those command and camp elements getting a lot of use, actually; big historical games usually have a few bases here and there to lighten the mood, at least at the shows I've been to.
The quick Street Violence conversions are ... interesting. I suppose you could do a "when re-enactors go wild!" game, but they don't quite fit with the rest of the SV range.

Their line can be described as 'ecclectic' with everything from near future, to the War of Spanish Succession, to Irish riots, to just plain WTF.
I think most of the sculpting falls under the latter category.

No. Just no. You can't go classing inability or apathy as 'retro'. You can't look at the faces of those zulus and women and call it 'character'. There's such a thing as old and good sculpting, there's even old and characterful sculpting, but these are just old and bad sculpting.
Yea, some of the faces (the women in particular) is pretty rough. The skeletons and other fantastical stuff works pretty well though, since they don't have human faces and thus have more leeway before it feels too wonky.

And it seems they have another site as well, Warmonger Miniatures, also offering free shipping. This one specializing in orcs and goblins by Kevin Adams.
Some older stuff, some new stuff in the pipeline. For now most are the rennisance/GW Empire looking orcs Foundry had in the 90s, but with some more mutated and savage ones coming, including female orcs.
They ain't cheap but they have that elusive quality we call 'character', they'll stand out in any fantasy army.
I have no great insights as to why they needed another site/company for this (royalty reasons? create a bigger splash) but there you go.
And yes:
FREE POSTAGE WORLDWIDE for a while as we celebrate our return to the fantasy fray.
Words... words... words...
Spoiler:
Warmonger consists of Bryan, Diane and Marcus Ansell alongside sculptor extraordinaire Kevin Adams.
We are about to embark upon the task of filling this new site with some hundreds of fantasy miniatures.
As we mould and cast them up, new models will regularly appear here on these pages.
Our Mission is to go back to the original master moulds and bring over two hundred of Kevin's fantasy models from 15 years ago back into production.
Simultaneously, we will be launching Warmonger: our own new fantasy range. Kevin and Bryan have been working on the Warmongerers for about a year now: we have about two hundred Warmongerers to get through too.
It's hard to predict how long this process is going to take, as we have a very large number of masters, master moulds and production moulds to get through and we are a small team. It would be nice to think that we will have done most of the work within 18 months. We will start out relatively slowly and accelerate as things progress.
Meanwhile Kevin will (of course) continue (to sculpt).
We are calling Kevin’s new range GREENSKINS . It includes many sorts of Goblinoids in all shapes and sizes, and a remarkable number of viridian representatives of the fair sex.
Kevin feels that he should just leave it to you which of his creations you choose to be your Orklings, Goblins, Orcs, Hobgobs, Trolls, Ogres, Faerie, Sidhe, Redcaps or Phooka (after all, one man's Ogre is another man's Orc). With the interchangeable heads and bodies of various sizes, you should be able to create pretty much anything you like.
Greenskin Shields
Weapons: A good proportion of the Greenskins are wielding a weapon in both of their hands. If you would rather substitute a shield, you can just clip one of the weapons off. Kevin has made loads of shields: he will continue to make more!
The necks provided are of various lengths: it is easy to either clip them back or extend them with a small amount of Green Stuff or Milliput.
Greenskin Heads 1.png
Heads: We have made more heads than bodies so far. We will send you an appropriate head for each of your Greenskins. Unfortunately, each head that we cast takes up nearly as much space on the perimeter of our mould as the Greenskin itself, so we won’t be sending out any extra ones for the time being. Multi headed Greenskins will come with the appropriate number of heads!
However, we are going to see if we can find an economic way of providing extra heads: so that you can fit them on other manufacturers bodies or set about doing bizarre conversions, or whatever.Greenskin Heads 2.png
Once we have got things rolling properly, we intend to give you a choice of a head from a selection of categories.
Some of our new Greenskins will be available for sale on this site in the next week or two. However, as long as you have access to a telephone you can give us a ring on 01636 526886 or email info@warmongerminiatures.com and use your credit card to buy the Orcs and Greenskins shown on this site and anything else we have cast up in the interim. Martin will most likely answer the phone. He is a mine of information as to what we have in stock.
While we were sculpting the first fifty Greenskins, we were putting photos of the sculpts up on our splendidly disorganized Warmonger Facebook site. You might like to take a peek: https://www.facebook.com/warmongerminiatures. You might also like to watch our strange video. We will be delighted to receive comments and questions!
To keep in touch with what we are doing you can join our mailing list, follow us on Facebook and keep checking back here at Warmonger HQ!
COMING SOON
Brand new Orcs, Snorklings, Goblins, Ogres, Trolls and suchlike.
For the last year Kevin Adams and Bryan Ansell have been working on their Greenskins project. We will be casting the first fifty Viridian Warmongerers out into the multiverse fairly soon. Click here for pictures of some of our soon to be released models.

Yes. Just yes. They're great.
When I want realistic amazing sculpts I buy Mierce or LOTR or Perry minis. When I want fun sculpts, it's stuff like this I want, versus Extreme OverTheTop Sexy Sculpts from like Raging Heroes or most of 40k which are just... boring... and bland... and lifeless. A single Mark Copplestone future warrior sculpt has more talent and character than all of the soulless plastic Imperial Guard Cadian range, for example.
