i would take away the slaughter cult and get another gore tide and then use spare points on getting a lord without an axe of khorne and give him a pfist instead

Give him an Axe and a PF with the Skull Helm, that combo works well with my Terminator Lord and would work even better with a Juggerlord. To do that I'd suggest dropping two of your Hounds and then do this:

If you get rid of your Bloodletters, you could give your CSM squads an extra guy each with a Meltagun (making a 10-man squad), give your Possessed a Rhino, and then equip both of your CSMs Rhinos with Dozer Blades.

Don't worry about not including your Bloodletters, they'll come in soon enough

Well, the Axe and PF are both specialist weapons so +1A, and the Skull Helm allows you to roll an additional attack with the weapon if you roll a 6 to hit. You can get a lot of extra attacks. Either way you're attacking with an AP2 weapon.

Wouldn't a claw be better than an axe? The is no upside to an axe over a power fist. Both AP2, both unwieldy, and axe has lower strength. Claw gives you the option of attacking at initiative.

"Because the Wolves kill cleanly, and we do not. They also kill quickly, and we have never done that, either. They fight, they win, and they stalk back to their ships with their tails held high. If they were ever ordered to destroy another Legion, they would do it by hurling warrior against warrior, seeking to grind their enemies down with the admirable delusions of the 'noble savage'. If we were ever ordered to assault another Legion, we would virus bomb their recruitment worlds; slaughter their serfs and slaves; poison their gene-seed repositories and spend the next dozen decades watching them die slow, humiliating deaths. Night after night, raid after raid, we'd overwhelm stragglers from their fleets and bleach their skulls to hang from our armour, until none remained. But that isn't the quick execution the Emperor needs, is it? The Wolves go for the throat. We go for the eyes. Then the tongue. Then the hands. Then the feet. Then we skin the crippled remains, and offer it up as an example to any still bearing witness. The Wolves were warriors before they became soldiers. We were murderers first, last, and always!" —Jago Sevatarion

The Axe of Khorne is Ap2 at initiative.
I'd still probably favour a claw for the points. But wouldn't rule out the axe. But if in terminator armour, couldn't pass up a chainfist.

The Axe will strike at I5 with 7 attacks at S5 on the Juggernaut, with any 6s to hit giving you an extra attack to roll for, though those can't generate more if my memory is correct, and then any 6 to wound is ID, which would leave only invulnerable saves and no FnP and -1 to Reanimations. Plus the Skull Helm is only 15pts, that's definitely a bargain. Use the PF for MCs and vehicles, still getting extra attacks on 6s to hit.

Ok, when you said give him an axe I took it as meaning a power axe. Not an axe of Khorne. I can agree with you then.
