Making a Mad Max: Fury Road themed force so everything is on a bike or in a vehicle. This is my first Ork List so any general or specific advice would be great. Oh and I have no idea how viable Warbuggies are but the conversion opportunities are too good to pass on!

Battlewagon is best as a transport (usually for manz, tank bustas)

12 boyz in trukk is better than 10

Put rams on your trukks (being immobilized is bad - you will go through more dangerous terrain than you think)

Meks babysitting boyz is an odd choice - you usually want them around to repair something....maybe put in battlewagon?

Rokkits are best weapon these days - I don't use buggies but I am sure it applies here

Consider dropping the meks to take a big mek with shokk attack gun (its fun)

If you haven't already modelled them, I'd suggest dropping the shootas off the trukk boyz (or just proxy them as choppa boyz) - cheaper, the trukk should move flat out turn 1 and then you want to waagh/assault turn 2 and get the extra attacks from the choppas

You want more warbikers in that squad for your painboy to effect - 5 doesn't really warrant a painboy

I would probably drop the battlewagon, meks and heavy armor on the boyz for a lot more warbikers and min squad of gretchin to sit on backfield objective - and trade the blitzbike for da lucky stick (best item in practically all of 40k)

This guy knows whats up. Definitely listen to this stuff, coming from a guy playing orks for quite a bit now.

My only argument would be using the BW for a big blob of Boys +Warboss w/ DLS + painboy if you have the points, and putting tank bustas or MANZ in the trukks. Rush the specialists, and while theyre panicked about that, slam them with a dump truck fulla hate. At only 1000, anti armor is gonna be sparse, and in fact if you can run two BWs with either bikes to screen for them, or trukks as above. Be wise, use terrain and other vehicles to cover your BWs side armor.

Thanks for the replies, I' planning to have another stab at the list today. I have a couple follow up questions.
chaosmarauder First off, what are manz?
My idea behind the Meks was to try to get the trukks to last a bit longer and give the units another heavy weapon (though considering ork shooting that was probably being optimistic).
I was thinking about going with Rokkits for the warbuggies and possibly having them provide the BW with some cover. Would it be worth upgrading the warbuggies to wartrakks?
I have heard good things about the shokk attack gun, should that big mek go in a vehicle or on a bike?
Would you say Shootas aren't worth taking then or just that I need some more assaulting units?
How many bikers should I go for? Should I just drop the painboy then and use those point for more bikers or find the points somewhere else?
I've been told the 'Eavy armour is good for when the transports inevitably explode but it is a fair few points and regarding the BW I think that the conversion opportunities are too good to pass up but I'll definitely get some more bikes in the list.
I think I may try to get 2 Warbosses (one with DLS and the other with athe Blitz bike) and a Big Mek with shokk attack gun

Manz = Meganobz

First, I'd say that Meks with Mega-Slugga/Blasta ('cause of Gets Hot rule) are suiciders. Rokkits are as good as Mega-Slugga/Blasta but not so dangerous.
Second, Meks can't help Trukk. They will simply have no time for that as Trukk usually don't survive first/second turn.
If you still want them then put them into BW.

Rokkits are the best if you have this option take them for everything.
For buggies maybe Scorcha works if you face a horde army.
I prefer Wartrakks as they are more maneuverable.

And if you want ORK HORDE DETACHMENT you need one more HQ and Troop choices. Otherwise go with CAD.

While the Meks in the Trukks won't be fixing anything they can be invaluable in combat to accept challenges, they will die but it guarantees that your Nob gets to attack with his power klaw.
