I need to repaint a lot of my models, without losing too much detail. How to I remove paint of my models?

Isopropyl Alcohol, 99%
Fast, easy and doesn't harm the plastic.

I tried a lot of other stuff, from acetone free nail polish remover, Detol to simple green, etc. all worked but ...
Isoprop is just better and much faster and cleaner.

Biostrip 20 if you can get it in the Netherlands.

Fast, clean, safe to work with and disposable. Cheap. And it really, really works.

Purple Power! Not sure if it's available in your country though.

I've had great success using cellulose thinners with a toothbrush. Use a pipette to drop some on, give it a good scrub, then use an enamel thinner to finish it off and get any residue off. I've used it on metal, plastic and resin with no problems.

It really really melts Finecast.
Please be careful blanket-recommending strippers.

Here's a link to a thread in this very forum that relates directly to your question:

Every now and again it is good to get a new thread though.

For instance, I used LA lightning and Dawn power disolver. Took paint off like acetone does on meral except on plastic, with no harm.

I cannot find the latter anywhere!

But yeah the search tool is your buddy.

I used Kleen green worked a charm fine for both metal and plastic takes a little while but works perfectly

For metal models: aceton (for example nailpolish remover) pretty much the fastest way to go.
Dont ever use Aceton on plastic models, they will just melt.
