What 1000pt list should I design to be competitive? I am a Space Marine player expanding into the Hive Mind! I want gene-stealers in my army as I am an old Space Hulk purist, even if they are questionable in tactics. I do want mass number h2h as well.

You might look at the Children of Cryptus, it runs about 550, that might give you a nice building block.

Then add a Winged Dakka'rant with Electro grubs, and two Broods of tunneling Rippers. That should get you close to 1000, and be fairly good at winning.

I bought the Deathstorm box and just recently the tyranid hive box set. I realize cheap meat shields are the way to go and some deep strike heavy hitters scrabble the enemy line. Should I focus on gargoyles, homogaunts or dermeguants? What about tervigons to replenish ranks? Is that a solid method or a waste?

It can be, I personally like to use Hormagaunts for screens because they are lightning quick. I consider Tervigon to be a little overcosted, so I don't usually use her. If I do, I like to buy it as a Troop ( requires a x30 brood of Termagants) and use Hive Commander to Outflank her, I include a Thorax Hive of Electro grubs as the only upgrade.


If you like Gargoyles take a look at SkyTyrant, or Skyblight formations.

One " must have" is Shrouding, from Venothropes, or Malanthropes.
