Anybody know if there is a market for the metal Confrontation models? I've got a Wulfen & Kelts factions I'm thinking of selling if the money is ok. I have no illusions of thinking that they will go for silly money, but don't see any point in selling if I can only get £20 - £30 for them.

Live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about his religion. Respect others in their views and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life. Beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and of service to your people. When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.

They sued to be pretty unique - especially the Wulfen / Devourers - but Wrath of Kings and a few others have now released similar models so might not get as much.

From what I have seen they usually do ok on ebay - so £10 a model, Kelts less - but its a bit of a lottery as you doubtless know.....

I see them on ebay and they go for money, but not all that much over retail would have cost 10 years ago.

It's a shame considering how good they are and how hard to find. There might be some models that are rare and collected, but you'd have to poke around and get an idea what they go for.

Plastic or metal?
Metal Wolfen sell individually quite well on eBay.

Too bad, those Wolfen are actually worth quite a bit, about 40-60 each.

Sounds like potential funding to get some more Dark Eldar units and finally be able to field them

How has nobody bought that range and re-released it? It was a huge range of gorgeous models, and they're just gone...

Was going to use some of them in my undead army, but seeing as that has fallen by the way-side...

Cool Mini has been talking about rereleasing some of the big models. I'm guessing they own the whole range now?

Ah, from Wikipedia: As of 2011, Legacy Miniatures Miniatures owns the rights to produce Confrontation miniatures & sells them via Cool Mini or Not.

I guess it really is a huge range. And they aren't cheap models, given the quality of casting required, the size, and the complexity of the pieces.

What's amazing is that the second iteration of the sculpts (some showed their age early on) have stood the test of time incredibly well.

I still use a majority of Confrontation figs for my Frostgrave warband, for instance.

The miniatures available through Cool MIni are a sad reminder of what was, though; a tiny range, and stupidly high prices. Trying to capitalise on the name might have worked, if only they'd not taken so long to get on with it.

I see you can get the Griffin ... Griffon, which IIRC never got actually released as part of the pre-painted plastic line. Unfortunately, they want a hundred bucks for it! Also, whoever wrote the stat cards for it needs to learn about apostrophes. :(

To the OP: I am always looking for some Rackham stuff to fill out my collection. Shoot me a PM and let me know what you have. I have also sold quite a bit of the stuff over time, so I might be able to help with pricing (though State side; the EU might look different.)

Has more to do with the poor state the moulds and greens were kept in prior to being acquired by CMON.

Sadly, the words "unsalvageable" and "basically kept in a box"' are closer to reality than should be.

That is really sad. I'm guessing some of the sculpts, especially for the Selsym, must have been rather delicate.

Ooooh yea. I have metals that bend and break if you think hard at them, I can only imagine what the greens look like. I suspect that the Chinese recasters (and the Poles if I recall) actually took the better path, buying retail metals and casting from them. You could at least sift through 5-10 sets of those and pick the best instead of trying to work with whatever crap Rackham themselves provided.

That wouldn't fly in Poland, she's got as strict copyright polices as the rest of the EU. The company you're talking about is based in either Russia or Ukraine. Some years ago, I bought a couple of their original sculpts, and although I paid in Ukrainian hryvnias, the package was shipped from Russia. So now you know.

Well, there you have it, somewhere to the East of Poland, Ukraine or Russia. In either case my point doesn't change.

Most of the rack ham that sells well on ebay is nib and rare. Wolfen and devourers sell well because of the asthetic. Griffons, undead, alahan and keltec sessairs seem to be fairly common, although minotaur sell well.
