Like the title says. Do any of you oldbloods actually own an entire chapter of space marines?

I'm not talking about sheer volume, as I think we've all gotten a lot of space marines of all walks of life. I mean like one uniformed chapter, all in the same colors and, most importantly, all painted?

After about 10 years of collecting I have about 1 and a half Companies, but this is spread across three chapters so technically I don't have a full company of anything.

EDIT: obviously we will need pictures, when possible (I know it's not easy to snap a photo of an entire chapter on a whim like this).

I’m probably pushing 200 Ultras, but that’s still a far cry from a full chapter.

There is no practical use for one, besides the glory of ownership. Even in large apoc games. They are more about the giant things, not the PA marines.

True but you always find that one nut who does it for the sake of doing it.

I would be that nut if I had the moneys. Still though, local dollar marines help towards that.

There's a guy at my local store who has something close to the entire Dark Angels chapter. It's not entirely organized into proper companies (he has 250+ Deathwing but only 500-ish power armored Marines) but he's trying to get everything organized and painted so he can play something like a chapter made up of detachments of the Unforgiven chapters.

I have a whole battle company of Crimson Fists plus attachments that I'm working on painting; I can't even conceive of the work it would take to put together a chapter. It would be cool, though.

Unfortunately nope, as we only really know about the size of Space Marine Chapters (all others, like Craftworlds, Ordos and such are given ballpark figures at best, if figures are given at all).

Space Marines, though, we can pinpoint almost every personnel within a chapter (save for extranuminary ones like Chaplains and Techmarines, but even those we can make a good guess at).

I used to have a full battle company but that got lost to the ages. And the fact that most of them are crappy second hand marines in a paint scheme I didn't like.

Planning on doing a full chapter. Probably Ultramarines so I could reuse some of it for my 30k stuff too.

Thought for the day: Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.
30k Ultramarines: 2000 pts
Bolt Action Germans: ~1200 pts

I know a good few guys both IRL and online that have full companies, or even two. But I doubt anyone has an entire chapter.

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

But I guess someone can canonically make a Lamenter's Chapter relatively easily since they only have around 300 marines left after the Badab War.

Even better, the entire Soul Drinkers chapter. There were like, thirty of them tops in Phalanx, and then even fewer survived after that

I have the dark angels complete first and second company. All painted. Going by the old fluff. The second company is being sold though. I believe my brother has close to a complete black templars company. Not positive though.

Sadly not a full chapter.

I have a full Deathwatch company (110 marines) - assuming the Deathwatch have such a formal structure (I'm pretending they do). They're in various states of painted (3 colour min).

Some did buy one. I heard that several locations of a gaming club throughout the UK (?) bought a chapter with each location taking a company to paint. But that's a while back and not sure if my memory is doing well with this.

I have something like 300 Blood Angels rank-and-file, with lots of ASM and scouts. Also got the whole 30 sanguinary guard, and roughly half the priests, libbies, and chaps, and all but a couple captains.

The big thing stopping me from advancing towards a full chapter is tactical marines. I barely find a use for the 50 I have already, I can't see myself getting another 390ish. :/

Also the motor pool. My god. Who on earth would own 40+ land raiders and stormravens. :/

If I remember 2 full reserve companies are made up of nothing but tactical marines, and each battle company has 60. That's roughly 380 Tactical marines (100 + 100 + 60 + 60 + 60), more than any sane person would probably own.

Then again we're paying GW prices. Sanity was kicked to the curb a looong time ago.
