Hey guys I am new to Flames of War and started a British Airlanding Company from Market Garden. I finished my first platoon but I dont know how to set them up. I know on the 5 medium bases that the regular guys go there. But the other 3 small bases I dont know how to set up. From these pictures can you tell me if this is correct?

Notice one small base has TNT (Engineer?), and a PIAT.

Notice one small base has what I believe is the commander (Has a pistol), with him I put a guy with binoculars and the flamethrower.

Notice on the last small base I put TNT, and the MORTAR together. If set up like this it leaves me two spare guys for whatever...

Also any feedback on the paint job is appreciated. gakky lighting, I am going to take professional ones once I get them based down.

You medium bases have 4/5 guys.
The three small bases are light mortar/PIAT/command

That's not supposed to be TNT. They are shell holders for Piat and 2in mortar rounds.

You can also see how the company is configured on the Flames of War online store page for the British Parachute Company. Detailed pictures of who is on each base.

Oh my gosh, I thought it was TNT hahaha. Thank you guys.

So the flamethrower is separate team? I need another base?

I don't have the Market Garden book, but using this reference, the Airlanding company list does not have any provision for a flamethrower that I can see.

It does say right on the FoW online store listing that it includes 1 flamethrower team though (which, presumably would be based as a separate team). Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in.

You basically use the same models (+flamethrower) for air landing engineers

This is correct. Its the platoon HQ section PIAT Team

This is not correct. The Platoon HQ should have the commander, binocular guy and a rifle guy.

This is correct. It's the platoon HQ section light mortar team.

I think they are looking pretty good!

The Airborne Royal Engineers have the option to swap one Rifle/MG stand of the combat platoon to a Flamethrower Team. So, if you want to use your figures for the Royal Engineers, you want another stand with a flamethrower guy and a rifle guy to use for this swap.

Seen good few players put the flamethrower guy in one of the teams, then given he's not all that obvious, tell the opponent he is there, or tell them to ignore him when he 'isn't' there, at this scale either works really. may be worthwhile getting a bit of orange foam cut to a triangle shape (say from a sponge) that you can drop on the base to show where he is when he is meant to be there

Oh yes, have fun with them, they are not the easiest force to use, but they can be a lot of fun, just make sure you're playing the scenarios (not 'just fighting') and have a good bit of terrain on the table, then these guys can shine.

Have Frost's perimeter force here as my version of them and they can drive people nuts
