What do you wear to the flgs?
Just, you know, normal clothes.
My best geeky gear, everyone there actually gets the references!
My store doesn't judge, whatever was the most comfortable clothes I have.
Cosplay! I didn't buy that commissar cap for nothing!
Dress to impress, gotta look good while purging heretics.

So quick fun poll, what do you wear when you go the flgs? I just see a lot of different ways people dress for games so I thought this would be fun.

When dropping in, normal clothes. But for a tourney, I do like to wear something a little extra. Whether it be a Wayland Yutani t-shirt, or my Mass Effect hoodie, I do like to show that I'm geeking it up a bit! If not going geeky, I like to wear something nice, clean, and sharp, to show my opponent and anyone that enters the store that I respect both them and myself. Always shower before going to a tourney!

My normal cloths are pretty geeky. Grabbing a random t-shirt out of the pile has better then even odds to have some sort of gaming/sci-fi reference on it. And seeing that most day I’m just wearing jeans a a t-shirt, that’s geeky normal more often then not. But I will make the effort to be sure I do get one when heading up to my FLGS.

I do have a coat I mostly wear out to game, with a collection of pins:

Apart from "whatever" clothes i do make an effort to wear a non baggy hoody/ jumper (not tight, ewww) or remove any loose upper items to avoid knocking any models over when playing.

Jeans and a polo shirt. Occasionally a t-shirt depicting Deadpool. But almost always nice clean jeans and a professional looking polo. Basically business casual. Usually gel the hair and look like I could easily head to work or a bar afterwards and not be out of place.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Just normal clothes. The occasional shirt with a geeky logo on it. By no means a neckbeard tuxedo (trenchcoat, logo t-shirt, cargo shorts or pants, trilby or ascot hat).

Just normal clothes, but I make sure they're on the newer, tidier end of the stuff I own.
I don't really own "geeky" clothes (though I'll admit I don't know what that means). My only gaming related shirt is an Emperor's Children emblem without any words.

My FLGS is WHW so I have been there in cosplay on their event days though.

The interesting part is that warhammer world actually has rules for clothing. This especially the second last line makes me wonder.

warhammer world site wrote:Can we visit in fancy dress?

If you want to game at an event dressed as the general for your army, or just show your love of a certain character, we do have some rules.

Costumes must be inspired by or relate to the worlds and universes created by Games Workshop.
Costumes must not be comprised, in whole or in part, of any real (or realistic) equipment of any military unit in existence after 1900. This especially applies to camouflage clothing, helmets etc. Costumes that indicate allegiance or affiliation with any real political or military movement are strictly forbidden.
Costumes must not utilise, in whole or in part, any real, scaled or replica weapons.
Costumes must be designed with health and safety and public decency in mind.
You may be asked to alter or remove any unacceptable costume and/or accessories.

I think you and Google have a very different idea of what an ascot hat is...

Daemonette costumes, I'm sure.

I just wear normal clothes. For me, that means an ankle-length skirt and a blouse though. Sometimes a T-shirt, which can have anything on it from nothing at all, to the Aquila, to Fafnir-done-in-knotwork.

I think I have a black Star Wars hoodie from Primark and a -most likely counterfeit- 1980s Bundeswehr jacket I got on a flea market in Berlin some years ago. That's the geekiest my wardrobe gets.

H&S half is because an Astartes in full power armor cannot get through any of the doors in the building due to height. Or down the stairs, or into the disabled access lift. I've seen this in person. They'd be up gak creek in case of a fire.

Decency I would hope extends to keeping all pants, costume or none, above the half-moon line, but I know it not to be the case.
