Da grab an smash ability. If the klaw hits (only hits and not wounds right?). Then enemy is grabbed. I'm assuming you don't still took the wound roll. Then it says the smasha hits automatically so it just does 2d3 damage?

The Boss Klaw acts like any normal weapon with two exceptions. First is that you use it to make attacks before attacking with the Brute Smasha. Second, if the Boss Klaw hits then any attacks from the Brute Smasha against the same unit hit automatically. Both weapons can still wound the enemy unit. If the Boss Klaw couldn't wound an enemy model it wouldn't have To Wound, Rend and Damage characteristics.

Da Grab an’ Bash: When you make
attacks for a Brute Boss armed with a Boss
Klaw and Brute Smasha, roll to hit with
the Boss Klaw first. If it scores any hits,
then a model from the target unit has been
grabbed by the Klaw, and the Brute Smasha
hits automatically as long as it is used to
attack the same target unit.

I've recently been thinking about this and to me it sounds like RAW on the warscroll the term hit/hits is defined as "passes a successful hit check", not deals a wound (even though that sounds logical also).

Which is still really good, as you would only then have to pass the to wound checks for the Smasha. Anyways, that's how I play it.

Agreed, the warscroll says "roll to hit with the boss Klaw first."

This is not the same as the roll to wound. The Klaw doesn't deal wounds automatically, you need to roll to wound with the Klaw.

Similarly, the brute smasha no longer needs to roll to hit if used to attack the same unit, but still needs to roll to wound.
