Yes, not my usual established colors, but these guys are from an opposing faction afterall.

opposing colours to your main faction is all good and legit, was just saying that the colours currently don´t pop enough...but post-wash these will look differently better^^. if i may be so bold...green wash and maybe even a blue wash for he green could work quite well...and brown wash for the reds...aye...i call that a plan^^

I will test a shoulder of 3 soldiers, black wash, green wash, and blue wash to see how the green reacts.

So, you got bit by the Skitarii bug as well, I see. Are you basing yours on an official scheme, or doing your own thing?

It is my own thing, they are the Shipment Guardians of the Trade Worlds Cartel who buy their wargear from the Ad-Mech. For that they transport Mechanicus shipments at the lowest costs, just to cover fuel food only. All other worlds must pay full prices.

Not sure I'd want to handle any goods that've been around the Vanguard.

Okay shoulder guards of 3 of the Shipment Guardians has been tested, Personally, I think the asurmen blue is right out of the deal. I am trying to see if the thrakka green or the black is better. Please give input folks!

I think the black gives a soot, and worn look to the armor. the green a patina. I just find blue on the green armor is not doing it for me.

Not sure, I would go with the green, or maybe try a yellow, to pop the green out, followed by a dirty dark wash.

yellow... now here is an experimental thought...hmmm... would cause a striking hue for sure...

Those turned out really well.

They look great!

post- wash they do look decidedly better... i like the now more antique look on the green parts... and the red now looks like a nice leather!

would love to see some more and better shots of plasma pete....there seems to be an hitherto new cool effect that i think needs a special appearance...

Yeah they do look more seasoned and such!

I merely used blues then added white to the blue, flash will fill out the rest of the light effects, LOL!

well... the flash is an energizer...

i am constantly torn and pummelled around when seeing the skitarii... one moment i want them badly... then i think i can live without them......from a steampunky point of view they would be a great addition^^

Buy some, Viktor. They're actually good figures.

Shas, I hate to say it, but I'm not digging the green armor. The base color you used looked good, but the wash seems to be gigiving off a very mottled look. It's making their armor look somewhat Nurgle-ish.

i will probably get me set once my first pay cheque arrives...

and also... i actually think this sells the ancient mechanicus vibe quite good... a bit of grime, dirt and mold...

i think if shaso would add some metal streaks... then that look would be perfect...

Well, I think a mix of the base green to show they tried to wash their gear, mixed with some steel scratches may add to the armor.

Those Skitarii are coming along nicely.

Everytime I see those Eikshorn (?) troops they remind me of Imperial Stormtropers from Star Wars, more so with the new helmets in upcoming movie, and I'm tempted to buy some and paint them in white armor.

Thanks, I took a breather and started a fun side project, and yeah the stormtroopers do look star-warsian.

so...i assume since we see stuff getting paiinted...weather is gotten better/colder?

i have to say tho that the white band here is a bit too flashy...

It could probably use a sepia wash to bring out the details, and mute the white a bit.

When I read camoflauge on a spaceship, I immediately thought of a black ship with a star field painted on it.

The ship also can land it's 730meter bulk planetside, so camouflage to deal with hiding on the ground, the white bands were inspired by the old Kriegsmarine, from a distance, visually at least, makes the ship seem smaller.
