simple question, what legion do you collect. If you dont collect marines then who would you support? If you have a 2+ founding chapter then which legion did they come form? The one with the least amount of votes might be my color scheme for an army. Oh and make sure to tell me why you chose your legion.

I collect Black Legion and Black Templars...because black.

Black Legion are the ultimate villains in the fluff and I like that they still stand for something other than just chaos for the sake of it.

Black Templars for the Knight/crusader theme. I can never get enough medieval in my life.

I also collect Sons of Horus for HH because they are the precursor to the Black Legion.

Well I collect Black Templars, so my Legion would be the Imperial Fists.

However, I did vote for the Iron Warriors because if I were to collect a Legion, they would probably be it. I will note that it was a close call between Imperial Fists, Death Guard, and Iron Warriors.

I collect space wolves because vikings in spehs! I didn't even know what codices were when I picked up my first box of termies but I stuck with them and they're still my favourite. Decent codex, decent fluff, decent models. All an army could ask for. (Sorry chaos, nids, and orks)

I don't collect a Legion. I collect the Ultramarines Chapter.

although I've been pondering starting a blood raven side project.

Salamanders! Why? The fact that green is the easiest to paint is what led me to settle on them (after my first two disastrous choices of White Scars and Imperial Fists), but their fluff and rules both made me fall in love with them.

My first army was Blood Angels. I picked them because that was the transfer sheet that came with my RTB01 box. After painting up a few squads of them, I wanted to paint a different chapter, as the red was getting tiresome, and having an extra force for the table for various scenarios was a good idea. This was before any chapter had special rules

So I painted a squad of Ultras (had transfers for them as well at that point). Really liked the blue, so I kept adding more. Brings us to now:

You're talking to the guy with 12 Fantasy armies over 3000 points. My Dark Elves are 11000. I loved fantasy probably more than anyone I know. And when they destroyed it and brought out AOS it broke my fething heart. AOS is such a terrible game it's not even funny. They destroyed everything I loved.

The GoT idea for a marine chapter would be cool. I think that the Lanisters would be a cool idea. Red and Gold armour but you could use some space wolf bits and white lion bits from the High Elves to re create Lion type armour. Forge world also has some lion headed shoulder pads from the Astral Claws that you could use as well.

I started 30k World Eaters. I really like the 30k World Eaters for a couple reasons. 1) They haven't fully succumbed to the nails and Khorne just yet meaning these marines still have some personality when compared to their 40k brethren. Their 30k rules are unique and lend themselves to a shock assault force. Their color scheme in 30k is IMO one of the most striking out of the legions. The white and blue go so well together.

I play fallen, so dark Angels. And there's quite a few dark Angels players in my local meta too. My deathwing terminator hood orniment on my land raider really gets them fired up!

Alpha legion, because when you collect alpha legion you collect EVERY legion

I just started Wolves, so them I guess? My problem is I like to create my own chapter, but I also like Ultramarines and Imperial Fists, and Crimson Fists and Black Templars. And on the Chaos side, Word Bearers, Iron Warriors and Black Legion (Sons of Horus). Too many things to decide :(

The bigger problem I have is that any Imperial marine army feels so silly facing any other Imperium army, to the point where I would normally refuse to play one just to avoid that ruining the narrative.

I don't know about Dark "angles", but I do play Dark Angels. Never forget, never forgive.

The Dark Angels. I have small BA and GK armies, but a few thousand DA. The first legion truly is legion

Word Bearers. I just love the aesthetics and Argel Tal's lore. Plus the fact that the song "Surfing Bird" fits with them do you know about the word?

The Sons of the Lion all the way for me! If I ever decided to add some vanilla marines to my collection later, I would probably do Blood Ravens.

Space wolves. I was reading the books before I was playing the game. I liked the space wolves attitude of fight then party or party then fight. No other chapter did that. The space wolves were my first army when I started at the end of 2nd edition. I had around 12,000 points I believe. And all painted.

World Eaters for me. I have played them in 40k since 3rd and now I have started a 30k World Eaters legion to represent them before/during the heresy. Both 40k and 30k armies are led by Kharne too

Basically, it depends on what Horus Heresy book I'm reading on any given day! Thousand Sons are also lookong good right now...

Actually its going to be a 40k chapter that will have nods towards having a 11th legion origin. (They will have XIII founding markings but a scratch or worn off paint over the II).
