Changing Our Legion's Name

Hello guys, i generally play this list only for fun, and i' m planning to do some changes but before doing this, i want to know your opinions

- Lord (140)
Blade of the relentless, slaughterer's horns, demonheart, mark of khorne
- Dark apostle (115)
Mark of khorne
- 5 Possessed (160)
Mark of khorne, icon of wrath
(they all stay togheter in the land raider)

- 2x 10 CSM (470)
2 plasma, powerfist, rhino with dozer blade

- Land raider (245)
dozer blade, extra armor
- 3 Obliterators (228)
mark of nurgle
- Vindicator (125)
dozer blade

As i said this is for fun, and probably in the future i will replace something with bikes and predators, but for now i' m running this list (sometimes i swap marks and icon on the guys on the Land Raider and i still have to try the Brethren of the dark covenant formation tho)

C&c are welcome!

Why not take a moderately weak army and make it significantly more powerful by using Khorne Daemonkin?

There is almost no point in using stock CSM when Khorne Daemonkin confer so many more advantages for no change in points cost.

Love the list - i personally hate cheese myself because.. reasons

I run a Kharn + Possessed in a Landraider with Spawn bodyguard list.

How about getting Prophet of the Voices instead of the Slaughterer horns? The Horns give you only Furious Charge, since the Mark already gives you Rage. Prophet Mutation rolls apply on the Character & the unit he joins and the unit gets an additional ability, since the wording is a bit wonky when it comes to Slaves of the Voices combined with Prophet of the voices. And, if the possessed become beasts, the character(s) cannot keep up with the possessed.

Why arent you using the crimson slaughter formation that includes a dark apostle, 1-3 units of CSM and 1 unit of possessed. It gives your units feen no pain and zealot, its not cheese it brings your list up to average strength. Its also incredibly fluffy, all the crimson slaughter formations are. Also give your apostle mark of tzeench and he will be arguably stronger than your lord

Also in the new codex it clearly states roll once to determine slaves to the voices and both the charactrer with Prophet of the Voices and the unit he has joined so Im not sure what your talking about, if the unit becomes beasts so does the character (see below)

If you check out the new formations it makes crimson slaughter not terrible, not good but not terrible

@Reavas Yea, as i said i still have to try that formation and unfortunately i still didn' t have the Crimson Slaughter codex so i still don' t know exactly the rules so thx for the hint

What you guys think if i drop the vindicator and the oblits from the list and taking 2 predators and some bikes? And what if i drop the vindicator, the land raider and the guys inside it for predators, bikes and maybe even a helldrake?

@Skalathrax8 well, i like having tons of models in the field but imho you lack of mobility, but good point on the termies, they gave me an idea for another list

@Skalathrax8 The problem with that list is, that you would have to 6" move your entire army towards the - probably shooty - army.

One thing i've forgot about the CS Possessed; if you roll on the Mutation table and they become beast, they have to disembark since beasts cannot be transported.
And with a 1:3 chance this can happen on turn 1.

Letting them run on their own isn't actually that bad since they can be either beast, get shrouded or get a 3+ invuln, everything you need to get them into combat without the LR.
Give the LR to a CCW Marine squad with MoK/IoW with flamers - the cheap man's Berzerkers.

My crimson slaughter list i've run had a (fairly overpriced) Slaanesh Lord (Daemonheart, Sigil, LC/PF, bike) in a pack of MoS/IoE Bikers (6+) and let the Possessed walk into combat.
Just some thoughts.

The fact is this, if i drop vindicator and obliterators i could take fully upgraded predators and melee termies for the lord on land raider, but i will lost the feel no pain given from the formation... so better HQ and bodyguard or better have a feel no pain? (consider that with this formation i could have some khorne melee beasts with feel no pain without taking mark of slaanesh and icon of excess)

Before someone ask why i want to drop the obliterators is because is already one year that i take them in every single game, i want to change a bit
