Hi everyone,

I always found a huge loss that no one ever port the "real" tabletop wargame feeling on a PC - I played with the idea and a while ago started the Battalions Fantasy project

You can find more info about it here:

http://battalionsgame.blogspot.com/

the project moved pretty slowly, so I decided to finally start a kickstart - as is the only realistic way to be able dedicate myself (and involve more people) and actually end it in a faster timeframe

You can find the indiegogo campaign here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/battalions-fantasy/x/14324258#/

If you interested any help is appreciated - not only in the kickstart but also by being actively involved in the project you can contact me - (constructive) critics are also welcome

So there is something called tabletop simulator. You can do everything from poker to 40k. I just played xwing and 40k kill team with a friend from KY.
I can see D&D campaign.

I know (and love) tabletop simulator, but is a total different project: you have a - well a tabletop simulated and can play anything but there's no hard rules, is an open sanbox rather that a game with a definited ruleset - and of course you can't play against the pc.

Battalions Fantasy aim to have the ability to play with a defined ruleset but that give the same "feeling" of a tabletop wargame - think it more like a Total War game (with campaign and battles) but with the battles turn based instead of real time.

It's hard to compete with already existing, good quality and free.

Vassal too is a total different project: a playground where can play anything, but no fixed/auto definite rules

If you play MTG you can think about Magic Workstation and MTGO (or duels of the planeswalkers) - you can play Magic with both but are different approach: one is a sandbox, the others are designed to play that specific game without need to "agree" on use a specific set of rules beforehand (BF being based on its own ruleset, currently work in progress, but with the primary focus or being easy to replicate on a real tabletop too)
