Inspired by Wyrmalla's excellent Fallout thread, and my current ongoing obsession with all things Fallout (currently playing F4, completed F1 a month ago and I've just bought Wasteland 2), I backed the This is Not a Test kick starter and I've been stockpiling a whole load of post apocalypse themed miniatures in my backlog.

I'm drumming up interest with a few friends in my club and we're hoping to get a TNT campaign going by September (when the Kick starter with my hardback rulebook delivers), though as I'm the only active wargamer I'll be providing all the miniatures myself so I've got my work cut out for me. I currently have plans and have started collected miniatures for 6 warbands, one for each Faction.

I'm setting the campaign in the state of Arizona, the home territory of Caesar's Legion, after an NCR victory at the 2nd Battle of Hoover Dam at the end of New Vegas. Caesar is dead, the Legion was shattered and the remnants that maintained cohesion have retreated East and disappeared. Arizona is now a lawless power vacuum with many factions seeking to loot the spoils left behind behind the Legion and stake their claims to the territory.

Peacekeepers
The NCR has dispatched Ranger Recon teams to hunt down any lingering Legion remnants and keep a watch for any signs of a resurgent Legion.

Preservers
Though a temporary alliance and uneasy truce with the NCR was established shortly before the 2nd Battle of Hoover Dam, the Brotherhood of Steel has secretly dispatched a Recon Team to catalogue any Pre-War tech left behind or untouched by the Legion, keep it out of the hands of the NCR, and establish a new base of operations.

Caravanners
Vault 53, a Vault where the equipment was designed to break down regularly to test the impact of stress on its inhabitants, has reopened and began dispatching supply caravans into the Arizona Wasteland after decades of hiding from Caesar's Legion The nature of the Vault's experiment forced the Vault to trade with, scavenge and raid the surface for centuries to sustain their Vault. Now with the fall of the Legion, they're taking the opportunity to open up to the surface once more.

Tribals
After New Canaan's destruction by the White Leg tribe at the behest of Caesar in 2281, the survivors scattered far and wide. Some, like Joshua Graham and Daniel made their way south to Zion Canyon, where they began converting the native tribes to Mormonism. Others fled east. Following the fall of Caesar's Legion, Mormon missionaries have appeared in Arizona leading Tribes of converts to seize the lands abandoned by the Legion.

Oh, and I've just decided that the "gas mask" that the converted Elite Vault Dweller is wearing is actually a scuba diving air tank.

Yep, she's wandering the wasteland wearing a scuba tank as a makeshift gas mask.

Our first (practice) game of This is Not a Test, Vault Dwellers (Caravanners) vs Brotherhood of Steel (Preservers).

Both warbands scrambled to take up vantage points in the ruins and began a long drawn out firefight. The Vault Dweller leader scored a lucky early hit on the Paladin in Power Armour and wounded him, but the combat armour of the Knights combined with the heavy cover of the ruins made them difficult targets. Meanwhile, the single shot rifles of the BOS Knights were more accurate (meaning they weren't burst firing, so my opponent had spare Action Points to "Concentrate" which cancelled out my cover), and they were able to beginning picking off a Vaultt Dweller every turn.

The Vault Security Guard charged across the street, jumped through a window, and after several rounds of combat was finally able to kill one of the Knights in melee...and then was promptly disintegrated by the Paladin's laser rifle.

Painted up a few more Vault Dwellers.

Spoiler:

Facebook actually tried to tag that last mini as a person. I guess it'd make a cool profile picture.
