Hey everyone! My name is Heath Foley, I'm the owner and lead artist of Red Panda Miniatures.

I'm an industry concept artist who's designed around 500+ miniatures that are actively being used in the industry! I've worked with Mantic Games, Soda Pop Miniatures, Anvil 8 games, On The Lamb Games and many others. I decided after a few years in the industry that I wanted to make my own miniature line that was unique in the market. That's why we here at Red Panda Miniatures decided to come up with Wander, a new line of miniatures featuring anthropomorphic animal miniatures in both traditional and new fantasy roles!

The overall game plan is to release miniatures and first and down the line make them playable in a board game we currently have in development! We've actually just launched a new kickstarter to help launch the line and we wanted you guys to hear about it! You can find the link to it here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/redpandaminis/wander-by-red-panda-miniatures-2016

We love hearing feedback on the designs and sculpts, so let us know what you think!

Heath is a stand up guy and has done some great concepts for a ton of companies. They showed off the first mini for Wander at Adepticon, and it was really slick looking!

Well, its full of some good stuff! And as of midnight EST, it just crossed the 25% funded mark! For our first KS, we are pretty proud of that!

For anyone who's interested in what the actual miniatures look like, you can see a preview of some of the models in our add-on graphic here:

And with our first update, we just shared some pics of the 3D prints we just picked up! They look great! We couldn't be happier.

Here's Tank the Guardian:

And here's Kira the Thief:

We are always open to new character design idea's as well, so if you guys have an animal and class combo you'd like to see, let us know! We'd love to hear about it!

Rat Paladin. The rat is never the paladin.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

We were playing with the idea of a rat who thinks the plague/fleas are a holy boon from the gods, sent down to only their most devoted followers...maybe he could be a Paladin Plague Bearer! That would be a fun design to produce

We've got a pug idea lined up! Actually, we were talking to a painter who hooked us up with this idea...how does a Sicilian Pug Merchant Lord sound?

What an Amazing 24 Hours!

Wow! We launched this campaign yesterday at 2pm, and today we have funded 1/3 of the base goal! Thats absolutely incredible, you guys are amazing! We need to keep up sharing the news with whoever we can that might be interested! We can make this minis a reality!!!

After a comment or two asking questions about how the models looked, we decided that we needed a 360 video of ALL the characters in the base goal. Luckily our amazing friends over at Eldritch Studios had the same thought, and sent us this:

As you might have seen from the first update, some of the 3D printed mini's are finally complete, and they look great, better than we could have hoped! Hopefully we will have one or two more soon.

As you guys know, the more people we can get interested in the campaign, the better! That way we could get a good chance to start hitting some stretch goals. On that note, we have been throwing out some teasers the week before of something green and scaly...well we wanted to finally share what that design is! Say hello to the first official stretch goal, Jon the Bard! Let us know what you guys think

We are always open to suggestions!

Seriously, if you have an idea, share it! We love hearing it! And just because we cant tackle a design now doesn't mean we cant get it down the line. By the ways...does an amphibian possibly count? We've got one of those planned for sure...its just a rough sketch at the moment, but she'll be one of the stretch goals for sure...say hello to the Horned Toad Alchemist!

Out of curiosity, what material are these going to be made from? I didn't notice if it said anywhere. Are you at liberty to say who will be doing the casting?

As for suggestions? Though it would look similar to a Pug, how about a Boston Terrier? Maybe as a priest/cleric? Hyena berserker? Sheepdog swordsman? Sheep rogue?

They will be cast in high quality pewter, guaranteeing a high level in detail. The models will come unpainted and may require some assembly

on the front page buried in the text

(I wouldn't mind a resin option either but since they're not full chibi metal's ok)

Oh man, a sheep rogue sounds great! I like the Hyena Berserker as well, I think one of the backers mentioned a Chicken Berserker which would be ludicrous/fun to design lol! I can also see a Highlander Sheepdog Swordsman, that one would be fun to work on as well!

As far as your question, Orlando has it right! They will most assuredly be cast in high quality Pewter! As far as casting, we are currently looking at Valiant at the moment. They've got solid quality with pewter casts and have a good turnaround time, which is what you want when fulfilling a kickstarter.

Okay, I missed that bit about being metal. I'm down with that. Cool to hear that Valiant will be doing the casting, too.

I'd thought about a Highlander sheepdog at first, but then I remembered that Brushfire had done one. So, my thought was more along the lines of a Zatoichi type wandering blind swordsman, what with the fur covering their eyes. Chicken berserker sounds like a good one as well. Or a martial artist, what with those spurs they have.

Oh, how qbout a pig cook?

Big fan of your work, and going to be backing this project. If you are fishing for ideas may I suggest the"Axolotl"? (a frilled salamander) They are prety wild looking, and I could imagen haveing alot of fun design wise with them.
Spoiler:

Spoiler:

Maby combined with the salamander pyromancer suggested already? One of these guys as some kind of spell caster would look awsome.

I think a snake character could also be very interesting, with them holding the weapon with their tale. Maby as a theif holding a posien dagger? lol If you go the liama route and give them arms they would still be awesome and usefull.

I also want to say that some foxes and crows are a must! They would pull double duty as Kitsune and Tengu in other games.

An Axolotl has an amazing head shape! I'd love to turn that into something like a water-mage or some sort of peaceful martial artist. What kind of class could you see one being?

We've had some snake ideas, they'd definitely need some arms for sure, but that tail could be super useful! I could almost imagine a ranger type with that...with a really long distance bow, almost like a sniper!

We actually have plans to eventually release a crow AND a fox character! The fox one is one of the first three stretch goals but I think she'll surprise you, she's one of our more unique classes lined up! The crow is in the works,
I'm planning on doing a few google hangout sessions and life sketching sessions to help promote the Kickstarter and show our backers a bit of the process, I'm thinking the crow might make an appearance

Oh, I meant to mention...I love your Icon, Lockark! I'm the guy who drew that for On The Lamb Games as a matter of fact. It was so fun to design!

Like I said, I'm a fan of your work.

For a Axolotl, a water mage that is wielding some sort of spell/energy/magic would be a good idea. Then you could even paint it as fire, water, or even green. I also like the idea of a monk, that would look realy cool TBH.

But, well thinking about it and brushing up on them I realized something, A different take on them that could be interesting. A Axolotl Necromancer. Axolotl are known for having some of the most crazy levels of regeneration seen in vertebrates, even compared to other amphibians.

rofessor Stephane Roy of University of Montreal wrote:You can cut the spinal cord, crush it, remove a segment, and it will regenerate. You can cut the limbs at any level—the wrist, the elbow, the upper arm—and it will regenerate, and it’s perfect. There is nothing missing, there’s no scarring on the skin at the site of amputation, every tissue is replaced. They can regenerate the same limb 50, 60, 100 times. And every time: perfect.

But here is the kicker. In aztec mythology they were associated with the god Xolotl, a dog headed God of death who would lead the dead to the underworld. A legend told that Xolotl was fearful that the other gods wished to kill him, so he turned into a Axolotl to hide from them. (The name Axolotl means roughly "Water Dog", and share the route name from the god Xolotl)

I'm fairly sure you just blew our collective minds on that one...well done! An Axolotl Necromancer sounds amazing. I could almost see him as Frankenstein's Monster, but he's both the creator and the creation! It could be epic. Plus there's plenty of people asking for more reptilian designs...why not add some more amphibians while we are at it?

In all honesty, you should share that on our Facebook post where people are sharing their ideas like mad. This one is a solid entry for sure!

Remember thow, that what makes them crazy is they when they regenerate, they do it PERFECTLY every time. No deformities or scar tissue. I think of it almost more like a Lich. People keep thinking they kill him, but he keeps regenerating and coming back.

Put the suggestion on your guy's page just now!

I put in my pledge. There's a lot of ideas I'm hearing that I like. I guess my current band of anthropomorphic animal adventurers will be getting some friends. Hopefully they'll all scale well together. Will I be able to upgrade my pledge level and add additional funds turing the pledge manager?

Awesome, glad to hear it!

The way we are setting up our pledge manager will be through our web-store, its just an easier way for us to process everything. Basically we'll set it up where your pledge amount will be automatically credited to our web-store, you pick whatever you want that you backed for, then you can add on more to the pledge there at the kickstarter prices, of course!
